Under the general direction of the coordinator, WIC Program interviews and obtains information from clients in order to enroll them in WIC program. Assists with the assessments of the nutritional status of clients, provides nutritional counseling, distributes monthly vouchers, and participates in a variety of nutrition education activities.

Enrolls clients in WIC program.

Provides group and individual nutrition education to program participants.

Distributes monthly food vouchers to clients.

Assists with assessment of nutritional assessment of clients, taking height, weight, and blood hemoglobin counts and lead screenings.

Refers clients to appropriate medical, dental, and social services.

Participates in preparation and delivery of nutrition education materials and participates in health fairs.

Participates in training of dietetic students.

Scheduled Hours

22-24 hours per week. M.W,Th 8:00-4:30pm (Work 7-8 hour days)

Licenses & Certifications

Dietetic Technician registration (DTR) with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.


Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Dietetics.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

CPA approved by state WIC program.Ability to relate well to people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.Intermediate computer skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent organization, decision-making, and problem solving skills.
