Monday-Friday 2-3 days onsite at the Zilber location in Wauwatosa, WI.

Directs the multi-state administration and coordination of hospice specialty services, including hospice inpatient facility, 24/7 supportive, specialty and GIP teams. Evaluate and monitor programs to include clinical, financial, operational, and personnel management to meet the goals and objectives of the organization in accordance with its standards, policies and regulatory requirements. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to support hospice operations. 2-3 days onsite at our Wauwatosa, WI location is required.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and maintains hospice policies and procedures that are in full compliance with all appropriate local, state, federal and national accreditation body rules and regulations. Ensures that clinical areas and staff are in full compliance with such rules and regulations.

  • Develops collaborative and cooperative relationships with customers, physicians, community organizations and entities of Advocate Aurora Hospice across multi-state region.

  • Develops, recommends and implements the annual operating plan and budgets in conjunction with Executive Director Hospice, Vice President and Finance to meet the strategic direction of the organization. Operates within budget. Monitors productivity, clinical quality, and service quality performance to meet agreed upon benchmarks.

  • Identifies methods of improving quality standards through collaboration with customer groups (clients, physicians, employees) and participation in continuing education opportunities.

  • Creates plans and quality improvement activities for managers to meet or exceed our strategic plan.

  • Implements growth tactics for service areas within Advocate Aurora Hospice product lines to achieve overarching growth goals.

  • Develop and executes staffing plans to provide cost effective, high quality services and outcomes.

  • Collaborates with Advocate Aurora leaders to successfully meet regulatory requirements.

  • Maintains competency of all areas of multi-state responsibility.

  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.

  • Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.

  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or

Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 7 years of experience in clinical nursing including experience in a hospice or home health care setting. Includes 3 years of management experience in managing staff and budgets.

  • Must possess the ability to solve problem and make independent judgments and decisions based on experience and good judgment.
