Major Responsibilities:

  • Defines new and existing team member educational needs. Presents and makes recommendations regarding course design, technology, and appropriate instructional delivery options (i.e. classroom course, e-learning, virtual conference, desk-side, etc.)
  • Designs educational programs according to adult learning and instructional design best practices in alignment with the established objectives. Incorporates iterative feedback from the business department(s) for whom the education is being designed and ensures that deliverables and timelines are met. Supports e-learning development and other technology-based learning initiatives.
  • Ensures that all educational programs have defined learning objectives, accurate and complete content, and are documented according to standards.
  • Completes all research, writing and design instructions associated with each educational program, including learner manuals and facilitator guides for instructor-led classes. For instructor-led classes, provides comprehensive "train the trainer" sessions for all trainers who will be presenting the material, and provides trainers with explanations of updates as they arise, including new "train the trainer" sessions, as needed.
  • May develop engaging and effective e-learning courses that use graphics, videos, simulations, and animations. Assists in the conversion of instructor-led training programs to virtual solutions. Maintains and updates existing e-learning courses. Integrates visual, video, and audio technology into the course development process, ensuring they are optimized for performance.
  • Ensures consistency and adherence to department e-learning design standards (branding guidelines, accessibility requirements, imagery, etc.). Maintain digital files in a central and easily accessible location for editing and storage and ensures online learning catalogue is up to date.
  • Observes educational programs created on a periodic basis to assess effectiveness of programs, as well as potential areas for improvement using levels 1-4 of the Kirkpatrick Model.
  • Engages in professional two-way dialogue with trainers on delivery of educational programs, as it applies to the content and flow of the programs.
  • Establishes periodic meetings with key departments to evaluate satisfaction with existing offerings and to explore ideas of new or enhanced training opportunities. Documents and acts on feedback provided by the departments while maintaining a positive working relationship with those departments.
  • In accordance with internal department standards, may be required to maintain an up-to-date project dashboard. Consistently participates in internal team meetings.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Epic ADT/Prelude certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
  • Epic Hospital Billing with Single Billing Office Administration certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months.
  • Epic Cadence certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
  • Epic Home Health Billing certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
  • Epic Hospice Billing certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
  • Epic Hospital Registration Revenue Cycle Readiness certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
  • Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Administration certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
  • Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Payment Application certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
  • Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Self-Pay Follow-Up certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
  • Epic Resolute Professional Billing Administrator certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
  • Epic Grand Central certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
  • Any other applicable certifications or badges based on the needs of the department.
  • If uncertified, certifications must be obtained within 6 months of starting.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.

Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in adult education/instructional design that includes experience in curriculum development, instructional design, training program presentation, and adult learning in a related business, technological or health care environment.
  • If e-learning focused, requires proven experience (minimum 2 years) developing e-learning with asynchronous tools (i.e., Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, etc.), along with experience in graphic design and layout (i.e., Adobe Creative Suite). Experience with multimedia development/editing software (i.e., image, audio, and video editing) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of functional areas processes and procedures, if applicable.
  • Knowledge of web technologies, instructional design software and collaboration tools and related web tools.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), or similar products. Ability to learn and proficiently use other applications.
  • Practical experience translating learning outcomes into virtual deliverables. Ability to clearly articulate ideas, concepts and visions for learning projects.
  • Excellent assessment and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with instructional and web-based design including audience analysis, design purpose strategies and assistance with content strategies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, verbal and written communication skills. Able to provide educational offerings that ensures translation of teachings into actions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively, independently and as a member of a team.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Functional vision and ability to use a computer most of the day.
  • Must be able to sit most of the day.
  • Exposed to a normal office or home office environment.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
