Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Full-time remote role. Remote work is currently only approved for residents living in the following states: AL, FL, GA, ID, KS, KY, ME, MI, NC, SC, VT, VA.
Reviews medical records to identify gaps in care based on established protocols within assigned populations and panels of patients. Patient conditions will range from preventative care to chronic diseases. Duties will include collaborating with providers and patients to close identified care gaps by scheduling appointments for the appropriate visit or test. Requires excellent communication skills, customer service, and telephone etiquette. Responsibilities include accurate and complete documentation of all activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Reviews medical records and coordinate health care services and referrals for assigned patients.
- Completes forms and provides medical documentation to support services.
- Ensures coordination of patient care and flow of information by delivering clear and concise messages to appropriate party, appropriately documenting information, and effectively communicating with ambulatory clinical departments.
- Utilizes computer programs and follows established guidelines to schedule, update, and cancel appointments.
- Follows departmental policies and procedures to assure completeness and accuracy of registration data. Ensures accurate billing and statistical information and maintains accurate authorization records.
- Coordinates with co-workers to accomplish departmental work assignments.
- Contributes to success of department by assisting with development and implementation of methods to improve customer service and recognizing problems and determining possible solutions. Serves as a courteous and cooperative liaison between patients, medical staff, and outside agencies. Anticipates workflow and prepares accordingly.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must be able to develop and maintain professional, service oriented relationships with patients, physicians, co-workers, and supervisors
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Medical office
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience working in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
- Experience answering phones and utilizing electronic messaging.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:
- Certified Medical Assistant
