- Due to complex requirements, remote work is NOT permitted for short or long periods in: CA, CO, CT, HI, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NY, OR, RI, VT, WA and working Internationally (this includes working while on vacation).
- No relocation, No Sponsorship or transfer of visa for this position now or in the future.
Responsible for the accurate and timely calculation, filing and remittance of state and local income taxes, performing tax research and assisting with the preparation of various tax compliance tasks, including federal and state tax returns.
Major Responsibilities:

Prepares and files sales and use tax returns for multiple entities and jurisdictions.

Prepares the annual sales and property tax exemption calculations and biennial tax exemption reports as required for the respective states.

Assists with compiling the necessary workpapers and documents used to prepare the federal and state income tax returns for all system filings.

Responds to ad-hoc requests, analysis and special tax projects, as needed.

Assists with tax analysis of Alternative Investments.

Performs tax research and analysis and document positions taken to support tax treatment.

Monitors and assists with the calculation of tax depreciation.

Responsible for maintenance and monitoring the various Department of Revenue sites and assists with all notices and internal inquiries.

Assists with the coordination of federal and state audits, including income tax and sales and use tax audits.

Within area of responsibility, maintains an effective system of internal controls that creates timely, accurate and complete financial reporting, promotes compliance with laws and regulations, and drives towards effective and efficient operations. Within area of responsibility, maintains accurate documentation of process flows, risks and key controls for each significant business process and sub-process.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

Education Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
Experience Required:
-
Typically requires 2 years of experience in corporate tax or public accounting.
Preferred:

Experience with UBTI, Unrelated Business Taxable Income)

Form Filing experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Demonstrated ability to produce high quality results and perform assigned tax activities in an independent manner.

Self-motivated, results driven and detailed oriented.

Strong analytical and communications skills, both verbal and written.

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel. Knowledge of CCH ProSystems desired.

Ability to work effectively under pressure in a changing environment and manage multiple projects with short deadlines.
