Nursing Roles

Nursing Students

Gain knowledge and experience while earning your degree. Advocate Aurora will help with tuition and ATI testing as you work as a CNA or extern at any of our facilities, statewide.

Certified Nursing Assistant / Patient Care Technician

Work directly with patients and their families, helping those in need under the wing of an RN or LPN. As an Advocate Aurora nursing aide, you’ll begin to see your career as a health care provider evolve and take shape, paving your path forward.

Nurse Extern

Administer medications, IVs and admission assessments to supplement your education in an accredited nursing program. Scheduling is flexible, so you’ll forge your own path forward while providing total patient care.

New Graduates

We view you as a professional, meaning you’ll almost always begin your career in a hospital. You’ll have your own practice and be involved in decision-making as we coach and mentor you. Throughout, you’ll have individualized plans to become the nurse you want to be.

Nurse Residency Program

The one-year New Graduate Nurse Residency Program fosters a positive experience for all newly licensed nurses as they transition into practice and is here to help you grow professionally with guidance from supportive cohorts, training opportunities and monthly interactive learning sessions focused on patient outcomes, leadership and other professional roles. The sessions incorporate blended learning teaching strategies that include didactic, hands-on content, case studies, simulation and facilitated discussion.

Experienced Nurses

Advocate Aurora will empower you to be your best, building on your interests and expertise. You’ll have a voice with us, so tell us what matters to you to begin your path to success. We value the skills and experience you’ve gained as a nurse and want to see you continue to grow and thrive.

Nurse Leaders

Advocate Aurora’s career development model and shared governance opportunities allow you to grow into the leader you want to be and developing nurse leaders for tomorrow is a key priority for us. If you’re self-motivated, driven and emotionally intelligent, with a BSN or higher, you’ll be on your way toward a future of career advancement and success. As an Advocate Aurora nurse leader, you’ll have exciting opportunities to be a part of expanding health care delivery models — all while improving patient outcomes, inspiring possibilities, and focusing on the greater issues affecting health care.

Non-Traditional Nursing Roles

Work behind the scenes while making a difference in the lives of others. Whether you’re a quality improvement coordinator, RN case manager, clinic supervisor or data analyst at Advocate Aurora, you’ll play an instrumental role in our success as an organization, and be valued for your unique talents and contributions.
