sitter .5 PM position. Veronica Huges will be transitioning this workday request to BHU

Major Responsibilities:

  • Observes patient in inpatient setting to ensure their comfort and safety.
  • Communicates closely with the registered nurse to have a better understanding of the patient's needs, diagnosis, visual, auditory or language barriers, along with any other special considerations.
  • Promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of the patient to the registered nurse.
  • Ensures patient call light is in reach of patient at all times.
  • Maintains a safe work environment; follows organization and department safety policies, including standard precautions.

  • No experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively interact with all types of personalities.
  • Willing to work in adverse conditions and the ability to convey a positive image.
  • Must possess a strong commitment to service management/customer service.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, life, squat, bend, twist and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
  • Must be able to:
  • lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist.
  • lift up to 20 lbs over the head
  • Must be able to:
  • -push/pull with 30 lbs of force
  • -perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.
  • Must have functional vision and hearing.
  • May potentially be exposed to the following hazards: mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
