Patient Support Services

Your empathy and motivation to work hard, providing Advocate Aurora patients with a memorable experience, is critical to our success. A healthy environment and proper nutrition are vital to human health, plus patients notice how clean their rooms are, how good their food is, and how friendly those transporting them are. With your kindness and attention to detail, you’ll keep patients happy, comfortable and on the road to better health.

We’ve been nationally recognized for environmental excellence because we strive to mitigate environmental harm and contribute to the well-being and health of our team members, patients, visitors and the communities we are privileged to serve.

Advocate Aurora is proud to be one of 11 founding health systems and three environmental nongovernment organizations to sponsor the Healthier Hospitals Initiative (HHI) — a national campaign to implement a completely new approach to improving environmental health and sustainability in the health care sector that includes:

  • Engaging in leadership on environmental health and sustainability
  • Serving healthier foods and beverages
  • Reducing energy use
  • Reducing waste and recycling
  • Using safer chemicals
  • Purchasing environmentally preferable products

Patient Support Roles

Environmental Services

As part of the Environmental Services team, you’re critical in managing and delivering a superb patient experience and keeping our spaces clean – a key factor in recovery and well-being. From the environment that’s created in patients’ rooms, to their comfort-level during their stay, your customer service skills coupled with your attention to detail contribute to our success.

Facilities

You’re at the forefront of keeping Advocate Aurora facilities safe and welcoming for patients and their families. You’ll ensure compliance with state and local regulations, while managing construction, remodeling, and interior design projects and overseeing the repair and maintenance of building systems. You’ll be empowered to utilize your skills to maintain facilities for our patients and team members. We count on your expertise to maintain a healing environment and in return, you can count on us to guide you to long term success in your career.

Food Service and Nutrition

As a food service professional you will have the opportunity to ensure that our patients’ meals are delicious and our service to them is prompt and friendly. The brightest spot in a patient’s day is often when their food arrives. Whether in-room or in a cafeteria, your hospitality and welcoming demeanor will help to make our patients, along with their friends and family, to feel comfortable, enhancing their recovery and overall wellness.

Security

Make sure patients, staff and visitors are safe by drawing on your experience and knowledge to proactively identify and resolve any issues. Monitor security and fire systems; and, in some facilities, greet employees and guests, helping authorized personnel get where they need to go.

Transporter

As a transporter, you will provide comfort and reassurance to our patients as you safely deliver them for treatment to various departments throughout the medical center. Your attentive care, ensuring their comfort as you go, contributes greatly to a positive patient experience.
