Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Hybrid position offering on-site work at St Luke's Medical Center and remote work on Thursdays and Fridays.

Provides knowledge-based reference and research information services to faculty, learners, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, pharmacists, caregivers, and team members who are accessing information in support of education, research, and health care. Performs literature searching services, teaches and trains clientele on information resources and practices, and produces documentation and instructional tools. Participates in maintaining in-house library systems for efficient information retrieval.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provides literature search services to clientele. Maintains proficiency in literature searching. May participate in systematic reviews or complex literature searching projects.
  • Provide reference services to clientele. Participates in staffing a virtual and physical help desk including virtual chat services.
  • Teaches and consults on information resources and practices such as databases, citation managers, and library web site and services.
  • May provide embedded librarian services through participation on teams such as interdisciplinary rounds, research councils, or non-library workgroups.
  • Produces documentation and instructional tools using LibGuides, LibWizard, and other software.
  • May participate in the maintenance of library systems for efficient information retrieval.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.

Education Required:

  • Master's Degree in Library Science.

Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in an academic, medical, or public library with customer service experience.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must sit, stand, walk, lift throughout the workday.
  • Must lift up to 10 lbs. frequently and up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must push/pull items weighing up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Exposed to normal office environment.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
