Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Rotating Weekends and Holidays11pm-7:30am

Major Responsibilities:

  • In absence of EVS supervisor, lead co-workers in the day-to- day operations of the Environmental Services department (EVS) program.
    •     1)Confers, plans ahead with supervisory staff, on job assignments, projects and activities.
    •     2)Verifies completion of all assigned duties/tasks by Environmental Services staff according to EVS procedures.
    •     3)Responsibility for assisting in scheduling of the Environmental Services staff.
    •     4)Adjusts the daily schedule to ensure proper staffing in all areas.
  • Functions as Environmental Services Tech, knowing all positions/responsibilities within department. When in a lead role:
    •     1)Role in Hazardous Materials, spills and disaster plans
    •     2)Assists in competencies
    •     3)Monitor Bed Tracking
    •     4)Monitors lunch and breaks
    •     5)Liaison between EVS and customers/staff as needed
    •     6)Coordinate projects/set ups
    •     7)Assist with room inspection high touch, etc.
    •     8)Issues key, pagers, equipment, etc
    •     9)Makes suggestions for work improvement
  • Supply and equipment use and maintenance.
    •     1)Assists in training and introducing new equipment and cleaning methods by demonstrating techniques and procedures
    •     2)Inspects equipment and supplies for cleanliness and possible damage, to ensure that it is in working for the next shift use and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Communicate to leadership associate performance, conduct, issues, etc.
  • Customer Satisfaction – Demonstrates a commitment to satisfying customer needs and exceeding customer expectations. Continues to improve patient and customer satisfaction scores.
    •     6)Maintains courteous and pleasant attitude to patients, families and other contacts.
    •     8)Utilizes appropriate chain of command in resolving complaints, grievances
    •     7)Maintains confidential patient and departmental information.
    •     5)Presents department in a positive manner to all contacts.
    •     1)Utilizes AIDET with both Internal Customers and External Customers .
    •     2)Demonstrates ability to identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively when dealing with fellow associates.
    •     3)Demonstrates a positive, supportive attitude to patient families and other personnel in emergency and non-emergency situations.
    •     4)Displays patient and tact when dealing with other hospital personnel.
  • Trains associates and assists in Department Orientation Process.
    •     1)Maintains licenses and certifictes as appropriate
    •     2)Fullfills operating unit, competencies, and required training.

Education/Experience Required:

  • *High School diploma or equivalent *leadership experience preferred. *3 years experience with at least one in Housekeeping

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • *Good communication skills *Good organizational skills *Excellent customer service skills *Must be able to communicate instructions

  • Job responsibility involve walking, standing, bending, climbing and lifting throughout the work day. Ability to perform medium lifting: up to 35 pounds occasionally and/or 10 to 15 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly.
