Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Manager will be required to occasionally work alternative hours for meetings as needed due to physician schedules and patient care responsibilities.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and ensures efficient multidepartment/site neurosciences and orthopedic operations, ensuring a high level of productivity, providing operational direction, assigning and monitoring work and managing the team member resources. Continually monitors the functioning of the department(s), resolves problems, and modifies operations as needed to achieve KRA/goal success.
  • Effectively partners with all functions of the sites and departments including but not limited to inpatient, outpatient, and medical group operations leadership, neurosciences and orthopedic support for diagnostic studies, and all clinical services. Serves as a liaison to support departments that provide and/or support these services.
  • Partners with other departments and leaders to evaluate and ensure quality patient care using standards of practice and patient outcomes, and ensures the use of quality indicators to include peer review, incident reports, and the use of policy and procedures. Ensures appropriate resources are available for performance improvement initiatives and resolves any patient concerns, complaints and/or problems.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with physicians and advanced practice professionals. Responsible for provider relations including efficiency and quality issues, follow up support, and problem resolution.
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of business and market growth plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory governing bodies, and collaborates on the quality measures for all programs and maintains department performance improvement data.
  • Design and organize the path of patients within the system, assuring timely patient care. Develop and monitor systems for obtaining information critical to effective patient care.
  • Partner with Stoke Program leadership in support of the stroke program.
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale. Evaluates the quality of patient care provided by all personnel through direct observation, staff adherence to policies, procedures, standards of practice, and through peer input. Responsible for performance improvement initiatives.
  • Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives. Responsible for understanding and adhering to the Advocate Aurora Health Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to Advocate Aurora Health's business.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Allied Health, or related field Experience Required: Typically requires 3-5 years of experience in healthcare administration. Includes 1 year of supervisory experience in managing staff and budgets.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision-making and problem solving skills. • Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, patients and other staff members. • Basic skill in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • • This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions. • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job. • Exposed to a normal office environment. • Work environment contains potential for exposure to blood and body fluids or other unpleasant fumes or hazards; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
