  • This is a remote Registered Nurse position
  • MUST be proficient with Epic (credentials preferred)
  • Must be licensed in either Illinois or Wisconsin
  • Must have high speed internet
  • Prefer experience with EPIC training

Major Responsibilities:

Organizes and leads new associate orientation

  • Conducts 1:1 training with specific staff as directed by department leadership and in any of the department regions
  • Directly responsible to maintain all department workflow job aids and utilizes all principles and procedures of ISO.
  • Prepares new associate orientation schedule, logistics and leads orientation and training for new hires.
  • Prepares and coaches new associate mentors; solicits feedback and provides performance summary to regional managers upon conclusion of orientation.
  • Uses principles of adult learning in all aspects of educational activities and Incorporates knowledge of cultural differences into educational activities.
  • Evaluates and documents new associate performance and develops individualized education plans when improvement required.
  • Maintains, organizes, and updates all orientation materials
  • Assists supervisor and manager with maintenance of staff competency levels and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborates with department leadership in staff performance improvement plans and remediation opportunities.
  • Able to independently manage and trouble shoot training environment and technical glitches that may come up during training

Develops and maintenance functional expertise in all department technology applications

  • Maintains Expert knowledge base of current department EMR products and how they work/relate to department functions
  • Functional expert in other Advocate applications-CareConnection, CareNet+,IDX, ERMA, CareConnection Office, Clinicare, SynAPPs, EPIC
  • Assists in OP CM EMR development and is able to update/teach new content/function releases to all dept associates via face-to-face, webinars

Collaborates in the planning and development of educational programs for all clinical and non-clinical department associates and responsible for execution.

  • Stays current on ongoing information on current trends and new techniques through formal or informal educational methods.
  • Uses research results from current literature in the development of educational activities.
  • Conducts a review of current literature for a defined topic.
  • Selects and prepares content, teaching methods, and evaluation strategies based on expected learner outcomes.
  • Secures continuing education units for appropriate programs.
  • Develops tools for basic assessment of knowledge and/or competence.

Incorporates activities of quality assurance to ensure positive patient outcomes.

  • Aligns staff education and competencies with expected department KRAs, especially as it relates to improved patient outcomes
  • Incorporates/utilizes professional journals in order to promote best practices in the field of care management
  • Leads system user and staff focus groups to solicit staff input on needs as well as feedback on completed trainings.
  • Participates in education and evaluation of all CM staff competencies.
  • Serves as a role model for continued professional growth and development for staff.
  • Supports and encourages critical thinking, new ideas, professional growth, adult learning, open communication, and collaborative relationships.
  • Collaborates with other areas of the organization to achieve quality system integration
  • Direct availability to all staff for questions and concerns regarding inconsistencies in job aids and raises questions and issues to her dept lead.

Evaluation of educational programming.

  • Assess response of learner to content and methodology utilized in education program.
  • Creates tools, measures, and documents learner outcomes of educational activities.
  • Collects evaluation data and recommends changes in programs or competency testing instruments based on the data.
  • incorporate feedback to learner throughout the educational process.

Licensure:

  • Nurse, Licensed Practical (LPN) OR Nurse
  • Registered (RN) OR Social Worker, Clinical

Education/Experience Required:

  • RN with 3 years’ relevant clinical experience (Bachelor's degree preferred)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Strong human relations, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Good communication skills. Presentation and group facilitating skills. Competent personal computer knowledge and Microsoft products Critical thinking skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Current Illinois RN or LPN or SW license

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to recognize the needs and behaviors of specific age groups of adult learners. Resiliency and flexibility to deal with a changing environment.
  • Demonstrates leadership and motivational skills
  • Ability to travel to various Advocate Health Care facilities and various times of the day/evening.
  • Ability to move patients and equipment up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to cooperate and work well with others.
  • Ability to make sound and timely decisions.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance. For over 35 pounds, handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
