Schedule Details/Additional Information:
8:30 am – 5 pm, Mon-Fri. There are a handful of early meetings starting at 6 am when start time would need to be adjusted. Resident Recruitment season Nov-Dec timeframe requires working four Saturdays.

The Program Coordinator performs a variety of administrative functions in support of the Research Director, program faculty, and residents.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Serves as administrative assistant to the Research Director in regards to any research-related activities for the faculty and residents in the department.
    •     Manages and ensures the accuracy of a database regarding all IRB protocols, renewal dates, deadlines, and paperwork completion; Serves as a Regulatory Coordinator for the anesthesia department.
    •     Coordinates preparations for the anesthesia conferences and meetings such as: Midwest Anesthesia Resident Conference (MARC), American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) annual meeting, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA) annual meetings, etc. under the direction of the Research Director including preparation of abstracts, posters, and PowerPoint presentations for up to 31 residents.
    •     Manages and ensures the accuracy of a database regarding scholarly activity for all faculty and residents in the department
    •     Helps in literature review, finding references and making EndNote databases
  • Others duties as assigned

Education/Experience Required:

  • Associate degree of equiv Bachelor's degree preferred 3 years of increasing responsibility in medical education, administrative, research or academic setting

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Typing 55+ WPM preferred Computer skills–proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point Proficient in data base management and creation of spreadsheets Ability to prioritize and work independently Medical terminology -preferred
