Assistant Clinical Manager for Cardio Diagnostics. (Stress Lab, Echo and EKG departments).

Major Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Manager of Clinical Operations, manages patient care delivery to optimize patient outcomes, customer satisfaction and resource management
    •     6)Supports the development of the plan of care through collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
    •     7)Monitors customer satisfaction and the Advocate Experience in collaboration with the Manager of Clinical Operations, shares results with staff, and assists in the development of targeted action plans.
    •     8)Monitors associate satisfaction in collaboration with the Manager of Clinical Operations and addresses issues or concerns to assure resolution.
    •     9)Oversees staffing and scheduling, in collaboration with Manager of Clinical Operations. Assures cost-effective methodology.
    •     10)Serves in the role of charge nurse. •11. Supports research based nursing by encouraging an environment that utilizes research in practice and decision making. •12. Promotes patient safety by reporting of issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives.
    •     1)Participates in or is responsible for the interviewing, hiring and competency assessment in conjunction with the Manager of Clinical Operations.
    •     2)Communicates changes in practice and ensures changes are incorporated in unit house-wide processes.
    •     3)Monitors and evaluates unit compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
    •     4)May assume responsibility in the absence of the Manager of Clinical Operations, in conjunction with the Clinical Director and the designated Manager of Clinical Operations. Serves as a clinical resource and mentor for staff.
    •     5)Collaborates with care coordinators and medical staff in relation to appropriateness of care.
  • Collaborates with the Manager of Clinical Operations, Medical Director, and others in developing the strategic plan and direction for the unit. Practices the principles of performance improvement.
    •     1)In conjunction with Manager of Clinical Operations, participates in short and long range planning for the unit.
    •     2)May identify topic for and/or assist in the implementation of research process. Provides relevant education at the unit level.
    •     3)Identifies and participate in PI projects.
    •     4)Implements monitoring systems defined for the unit to evaluate quality and adequacy of patient care. Implements measures to correct deficiencies.
    •     5)Communicates results of monitoring of patient care to clinical manager and other health care team members as appropriate.
    •     6)Participates in or is responsible for the evaluation of unit compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
    •     7)Conducts performance reviews for staff on a timely basis as delegated by the manager, with particular emphasis on developmental goals.
  • Promotion and support of an environment that is conducive to staff growth and development and autonomy.
    •     1)Defines, coordinates, implements, monitors and evaluates a unit-specific orientation program in conjunction with the Manager of Clinical Operations and the Advance Practice Nurse.
    •     2)Provides for competency based education processes for staff in collaboration with the Clinical Practice and Education Department, the Advance Practice Nurse and Manager of Clinical Operations.
    •     3)Fosters ongoing professional development of staff by assisting with performance, assessment of needs and assisting individuals with identification of professional goals.
    •     4)Promotes participation in educational opportunities.
    •     5)Develops, monitors, and evaluates the role of unit-based preceptor.
  • Performance of the principle duties and responsibilities of the RN position and serves as a role model for professional practice.
    •     1)Evaluates environmental safety and provides an environment that is safe based on age and developmental status care.
    •     2)Maintains unit, hospital and management based competencies.
    •     3)Demonstrates appropriate psychosocial intervention based on age and developmental status.
    •     4)Provides direct patient care as needed.
  • Responsibility for professional growth and development.
    •     1)Keeps abreast of current standards of care via literature, education events, internal and external resources and networking.
    •     2)Participates in activities to enhance professional growth, such as involvement in professional organizations and continuing education.
    •     3)Completes required contact hours based on FTE status, within appropriate time frame.

Licensure:

  • Nurse, Registered (RN)

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelors degree in nursing required
  • 3-5 years nursing experience
  • Licensed Professional Registered Nurse
  • Prior leadership experience preferred
