Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday 7a-7p (3) 12 hour shifts
$5,000 sign-on bonus eligible!
Major Responsibilities:
- Positioning and immobilization of patients and proper selection of protocols along with computer reformatting of acquired data to obtain magnetic resonance scans of optimal diagnostic quality.
- 1)Selects appropriate technical factors on an individual patient and procedure basis to provide optimal quality exams.
- 2)Performs post-processing of computer data to enhance data and image information.
- 3)Operates support equipment for MRI such capnography monitors, power injectors, post processing programs.
- 4)Initiates IVs for administration of contrast media for MRI enhancement in accordance with department policy.
- 5)Accurately reviews each patient charge; changes, modifies, or initiates additional charges for procedures performed.
- 6)Produces CD's as requested by patient or physician.
- 7)Coordinates scheduling and transportation of inpatients.
- 8)Maintains MRI patient log in Schedule books including adding in patients to the schedule.
- 9)Documents necessary data for Quality Improvement and QA
- Responsible for securing pertinent history from patient, patient’s chart, or family member to provide the radiologist with adequate information for exam interpretation and to ensure procedure criteria is met.
- 1)Obtains complete allergy history to ensure safe administration of contrast media to patients.
- 2)Ensures that all pertinant images are sent to PAC'c..
- 3)Scans all patient documents into patient folder and reviews exam prior to radiologist interpretation.
- 4)Responsible for charging of patient examinations and contrast as needed.
- 5)Starts and complete exams in RadNet.
- Compliance with established department safety standards to ensure patient’s and staff’s well being at all times to include proper established safety procedures for all health workers, patients, visitors; monitor staff compliance with safety rules; generate written documentation/ incident reports relative to safety issues.
- 1)Initiates requests for emergency medical support as indicated by patient condition; this is to include Code Blue, Rapid Response, etc..
- 2)Documents all allergic reactions according to department and hospital policy.
- 3)Transfers patients to and from MRI Scanning Table while maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- 4)Maintains a neat and clean work enviroment.
- 5)Identifies each patient correctly, using two forms of identification, prior to performing exam.
- 6)Screens all patients and personnel prior to entering the magnet
- 7)Changes all patients into hospital gowns and pajama bottoms prior to bringing patients into to magnet.
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of medical supplies/inventory required to meet the procedure volume.
- 1)Prepares scan room for procedures, ensuring that room is clean and supplies are available for each procedure ahead of time.
- 2)Provides timely information for inventory of supplies.
- Responsible for keeping abreast of current magnetic resonance imaging protocols and emerging technologies.
- Provides instruction and assistance as required to staff associates and/or students as appropriate.
- 2)Maintains positive guest relations when dealing with all persons encountered in daily performance of job.
- 3)Assists co-workers when needed to help obtain optimal exam for patient.
- 1)Assists the scheduling personnel in scheduling of patients for each scanner according to current department protocols.
Education/Experience Required:
- – 2 year Radiology or MRI program graduate ARRT or ARMRIT – Completion of formalized MRI course at Junior College level or above or equivalent. – Must be able to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e., understand child growth development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging, prior experience with various age groups is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- – Basic knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and knowledge of MRI/MRA clinical protocols. – Knows and understands MRI physics. – Knows and understands MRI safety.
- – MRI Board eligible – CPR Certification

- SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS – MIN: – Flexibility in hours work SPECIAL CHARACTERISTICS – COMP: – Able to respond to request to on 1/2 hours notice – Able to take emergency call – Flexible starting times to meet volume demand – Willing to work overtime as requested ADDITIONAL INFORMATION – MIN: – Attend annual inservices. – May be ask to work at either location ADDITIONAL INFORMATION – COMP: – Attends continuing education seminars.
- If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
