Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Join our growing team for part-time or full-time. Full-time Monday- Friday 8 hour shifts available for 1st, 2nd, or 2rd shift. Part-time Saturday – Sunday 12 hour shifts available for 1st and 3rd.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Posseses knowledge of monitoring system and camera controls.
- Alerts physician, nursing and/or clinical staff when clinical seizures or other paroxysmal events occur.
- Communicates with patients and clinical staff to obtain information when events occur.
- Documents observations on patient’s EEG recording as well as in patient’s electronic medical record (EMR).
- Completes hospital training to alert supervisor and or activate hospital systems such as rapid response, cardiac arrest, etc. per etablished protocols when encountering patient issues.
- Assists neurodiagnostic technologists as needed (restocking supplies, electrode removal and disinfection, etc.)
- Performs procedures according to the laboratory standards and implements alternative methods and/or adjusts controls to obtain optimal recordings. This may include appropriate control setting changes on the equipment and use of activation procedures.
- Recognizes patient or environmental artifact on the study. Documents, eliminates or takes proper measure to monitor the artifact.
- Troubleshoots equipment problems and communicates with biomed, manufacturer tech support or supervisor.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
License/Registration/Certification Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) to be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
Education Required: High School Graduate.
Successful completion of LTM 100 Introduction to LTM for EMU personnel offered in-house within the first 90 days of employment.
Experience Required: No Experience Required.
Will be trained in-house with a minimum 20 clinical observation hours under the direction of a credentialed Neurodiagnostic Technologist (R. EEG T., or CLTM) and successful completion of didactic course (LTM 100) and competency assessments to be completed within the first 90 days of employment, including but not limited to recognition of clinical seizures and other clinical paroxsymal events, ictal testing procedures, measures to reduce risk of fall, and seizure first aid.

- Intermediate computer skills, including use of the electronic medical record
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Must sit, stand, walk, twist, and lift throughout the workday.
- Perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Work environment may contain potential for exposure to blood and body fluids or other unpleasant fumes or hazards and, therefore, must have ability to work in that type of environment and wear protective clothing as necessary.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Exposed to normal office environment.
