Schedule Details/Additional Information:
LCSW or LCPC required; CADC preferredThis role will have oversight over the south area chemical dependency team which serves Christ, South Suburban and Trinity Hospital hospitals and the affiliated medication assisted treatment clinic as well as the PHP IOP program at South Suburban Hospital.
- Supervises the day-to-day activities of non-physician staff, ensuring a high level of productivity. Continuously monitors the functioning of the clinical and support team, revising operational policies and procedures as necessary.
- Monitors and informs the collaborative teaming process, ensuring effective communication, resource identification, and collaboration. Coordinates with internal and external teams when clinical a staffing is required.
- Collaborates with other leaders to support and align operations with reception, scheduling, patient service areas, accounting, medical records, transcription, business information systems, and other appropriate clinical areas. Establishes effective policies and procedures for each area, updating as necessary.
- Supports the Manager in serving as an initial liaison between non-physician staff and physicians to ensure effective service for patients, mitigation of risk, alignment with regulatory standards, and prudent allocation of resources. Supports the Manager in program development, implementation, and coordination.
- Schedules non-physician staff ensuring that staff is appropriately deployed across the service line to meet clinical and fiscal goals.
- Audits patient files, reviews active cases, observes patient care, and evaluates the appropriateness of services rendered.
- Periodically participates in care provision to serve as a mentor and support the team in times of emergency. Facilitate service specific onboarding and ongoing training and competency activities, including competency assessment, coaching, and development.
- Collects data to inform clinical and fiscal decision making.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with clinicians, behavioral health technicians, nursing, physicians, and other collaborative care team members.
- Monitors the clinician process for billing services rendered, including periodic audits and processing work cue requests for documentation, authorization, and billing errors.
- Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which includes coaching on performance, completes performance reviews and overall staff morale. Recommends hiring, compensation changes, promotions, corrective action decisions, and terminations.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization’s Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization’s business.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- None Required.
Education Required:
- Master’s Degree in Social Services or related field.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in a similar medical practice setting which should include a thorough knowledge of physician billing, accounting and general medical office procedures.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Knowledge in assessment and interventional planning and techniques.
- Skilled as a generalist and has one or more specialization’s. Extensive knowledge and skills in the application of theory, practice, and techniques of behavioral health and/or substance abuse treatment services.
- Experience in providing clinical supervision
- Demonstrated leadership skills including problem solving, decision making, prioritization, team building, customer service, and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrates the ability to function in a complex mental health delivery system.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to successfully and positively interact with physicians and employees at all levels throughout the organization and the public.
- Intermediate computer skills including experience in using computer applications in a medical practice setting.
