Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Monday-Friday 11:30am-8:00pmRotating weekends and holidays
Responsible for leading and directing line staff work activities according to established position descriptions.
1)Monitors staff arrivals and departures to ensure an adequate work team.
2)Prepares and adjusts daily work schedule to meet departmental workload demands.
3)Leads staff activities to ensure regulatory agency standards are met. (i.e.: Board of Health and Accrediting Organization)
4)Responsible for monitoring activities in all areas of the department; Makes staffing adjustments as needed.
5)Sets the example for all staff by demonstrating enthusiasm, teamwork, pride and quality of work, safety, and positive service minded behavior. Must have and maintain Excellent attendance and punctuality record as an example to the staff.
6)Works in a staff position as identified by department needs.
7)Assists with special functions as identified by need.
Monitors the physical area and work functions to ensure regulatory agency requirements are met. (i.e.: Board of Health, Accrediting Organization, and OSHA)
1)Conducts daily physical department walk through inspections and takes corrective action as needed
2)Conducts documented Food Service sanitation inspections as required and takes corrective action as needed.
3)Monitors area equipment function and initiates corrective action with appropriate department by reporting all repair needs.
Responsible for maintaining adequate levels of communication. This includes the responsibility for keeping employees informed of their job performance progress. Lead works with the employee to help and guide them during their work day
5)Communicates employee progress to management so that employee reviews can be done.
1)Meets with appropriate shift management to keep abreast of current activities and ensure continuity of supervision between shifts.
2)Assists with department orientation and training of new hires.
3)Conducts coaching sessions as necessary, working on one to improve / enhance desirable performance.
4)Documents Communicates to management coaching session activities
Participates in the CQI Quality Management program to meet established CQI Quality Management Standards.
4)Responds to patient / customer complaints and follows through as appropriate.
1)Monitors designated CQI indicators to ensure that hospital and departmental operations are being met.
2)Initiates corrective action or follow through as appropriate.
3)Maintains appropriate documentation for tracking and trending purposes and reports findings to Management Team.
Assistance to department Supervisor in overall department operations.
1)Performs assigned tasks / responsibilities as requested.
2)Reports all unusual occurrences and extreme emergencies to director and supervisor. Maintains CONFIDENTIALITY in all pertinent areas.
Education/Experience Required:
• High School Diploma with some management courses. • 3-4 years experience Lead experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
•Strong communications skills. •Strong interpersonal skills. •\Strong supervisory skills. •Strong team building skills. •Able to work independently, quality minded. •Experience with computer data entry.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to work flexible hours and days including nights, weekends and holidays. • Ability to work as a team member. • Ability to complete numerous simultaneous projects within the given time constraints. • Knowledge of patient tray line assembly and ware washing area. • Must have and maintain Excellent attendance and punctuality record. • Ability to solve problems in both operations and personnel management. • Basic knowledge of nutrition as it relates to tray line operations. • Ability to communicate effectively. • Basic knowledge of food production. • Ability to work under stressful and difficult situations. • Ability to respond quickly to peak service demands. • Ability to motivate and lead people to accomplish tasks. • Ability to analyze situations and develop workable plans to resolve them. • Ability to see “entire picture” and manage accordingly. • Position requires standing, bending and medium lifting.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For lifts over 35 pounds, lifting equipment is expected to be used or lift with at least one other associate when available. Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case by case basis.
