This is a hybrid role. Advocate may approve remote workers who reside in the following registered states: AL, AK, AR, AZ, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, LA, KS, KY, ME, MI, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WV, WY.

Facilitates supplier management initiatives in support of strategic and operational projects supporting the Enterprise Vendor Management Office (VMO) to mitigate risk, improve supplier selection and due diligence, and optimize the efficiency and performance of our supply chain.  Performs duties of high complexity, judgment and scope including coordination and development of quantitative metrics, supplier due diligence, supplier risk assessments, compliance tracking, onboarding/offboarding activities and other supplier analysis.  Works in collaboration with Supply Chain Management leadership, service line leaders, and operations to mitigate risk and improve interactions and partnerships with the third-party supplier community.  Takes the lead in gathering, analyzing, and utilizing supplier-related data to enhance supplier management strategies and drive continuous improvement. ​

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide highly complex financial, quantitative, and qualitative analytical support for program development and operational projects within the VMO. Develop Enterprise supplier scorecard models and data infrastructure to support supplier management initiativesAssist with Enterprise spend categorization, evaluation and supplier analytics resulting in accurate monthly spend data for dissemination. 
  • Support VMO leadership in executing on a best-in-class robust, flexible, and automated Enterprise third-party risk management programContribute to the implementation of tools and automation to support effective third-party risk management to scale the programSupport implementation of Enterprise third-party risk mitigation activities and track remediation through closure. 
  • Assist in proactively managing Enterprise supplier risk, compliance and performance through risk assessments, supplier risk methodologies, periodic monitoring, supplier ratings, process documentation, and evaluation and validation of third-party suppliers in collaboration with Supply Chain Management, compliance, cybersecurity, legal, etc. 
  • Support comprehensive management framework, program development and software implementation to support the supplier management lifecycle.  Perform supplier due diligence, onboarding/offboarding, compliance activities, and ongoing risk monitoring.  
  • Continuously monitor supplier risk, supplier credentialing and facility access in order to mitigate risks associated with Advocate Health’s interactions with third parties.  Responsible for the coordination, evaluation and execution of Enterprise supplier approvalAssist in completing an annual supplier segmentation process to assess the strategic nature of supplier partnerships. 
  • Promote clear supplier management objectives, communicate supplier risk philosophy and compliance requirements effectively through education of stakeholders (internal and external). Develop and deliver training programs and initiatives to enhance supplier management awareness and build supplier management capabilities within the organization and supplier network. Translate Enterprise supplier data and other information into meaningful information for executive decision-making.  
  • Identify areas of concern and emerging risks and bring immediate visibility to VMO leadership. Identify and recommend Enterprise process improvements or enhancements in alignment with industry best practices in collaboration with leaders and internal stakeholders to enhance supplier management and reduce organizational risk. 
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies in order to identify opportunities for partnership and innovation. 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

License/Registration/Certification Required: Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) preferred 

Education Required: ​Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare administration, supply chain, or finance required or 3 years of direct relevant work experience in healthcare supply chain will be considered in lieu of a degree. 

Experience Required: Typically requires 3 years’ experience working in contracting, group purchasing organization, procurement, or supply chain in a healthcare setting. Non-healthcare industry experience will be considered in lieu of direct healthcare experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Thorough understanding of supplier and risk management programsStrong knowledge of supplier onboarding/offboarding, supplier due diligence and best practices within the healthcare supplier sector.   
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, along with strong presentation skills and executive presence. 
  • Proven experience in supplier risk management, supplier lifecycle management, data analysis, or a related role, preferably within a large organization. 
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities simultaneously. Organized, proficient and effective at handling multiple demands/priorities with attention to detail and ability to quickly adapt to change.   
  • Proficiency with supplier management and risk management software platforms along with other business intelligence tools such as SupplierGateway, Excel, Access, Word, Visio, Power Point, Power BI, Share Point, etc. Proficient in working with procurement and analysis tools and other evolving dashboard and analytic platforms. 
  • Comprehension of linked supply chain process and decision impact to upstream and downstream processes and suppliers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.  
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
