7:00 to 3:30 M-F

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and improves inventory control measures, such as fill rates, inventory adjustments, stagnant stock and cycle count accuracy to optimize inventory costs and customer service goals.
  • Utilizes advanced analytics and quantitative methods to understand, predict, enhance, and ensure appropriate levels of inventory are maintained and to take proactive action against potential inventory issues. Assembles data, analyzes performance, identifies problems and develops recommendations which support the management of supply chain.
  • Assists in the selection of clinically acceptable substitutions.
  • Prepares purchase orders from electronic requisitions and inventory restock reports, to acquire supplies and services in accordance to purchasing policy.
  • Resolves various procurement issues, including expediting, vendor disputes, invoice discrepancies, expedited processing of emergency orders, returns, and handling damaged or defective product.
  • Communicates backorders and product shortages to site supply chain staff and other appropriate caregivers, in addition to responding to inquiries and concerns regarding products and distribution.
  • Collaborates with other supply chain personnel on product standardization and conversion efforts, as well as any product recall initiatives.
  • Assists in planning and execution of an annual physical inventory.
  • Reviews and responds to inventory related inquiries, as well as inventory reports in order to manage and reduce shrinkage, costs, and lost time due to inventory discrepancies.
  • Supports and works closely with departments within Supply Chain to ensure departmental goals are being met.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.

Education Required:

  • High School Graduate.

Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in procurement, inventory management, and distribution in a health care setting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Working knowledge of computerized purchasing and/or materials management/distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management, as well as medical/surgical products and/or healthcare supply management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skill with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with knowledge of advanced statistical and quantitative methods, such as exponential smoothing, seasonality, and descriptive statistics.
  • Must be self-motivated and detail oriented with strong problem solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc.) or similar products.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Position works in a well-lighted, well-ventilated area with moderate noise and traffic. Uses a computer frequently throughout the day.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Exposed to a normal office environment.
  • This position requires some travel so the incumbent will be exposed to road and weather hazards.
