Schedule Details/Additional Information:
night shift
- Oversee day to day refurbishing initiatives in the ED
- 1)Make regular rounds in the department, using daily rounding tool. Ensure proper documentation in care connection as rounding occurs
- 2)Provide input to ED leadership as to eqipment needs, anticipation of future needs and depreciation of equipment
- 3)Make rounds to identify areas of cleaning that are required
- Evaluate supply usage and suggest adjustments to par levels on a quarterly basis for optimal department function and fiscal responsibility
- Represent ED as part of Leadership Team
- 1)Participate in department leadership meetings as needed
- 2)Co-chair monthly ED tech staff meeting with ED Manager/ACM/or Director
- 3)Review patient satisfaction results that reflect the ED tech contribution to the department and develop an action plans surrounding unmet goals
- 4)Ensure organizational safety initiatives are followed by ED technicians
- C. Peer interview and provide orientation and educational support for ED technicians in collaboration with the nurse manager/director
- 1)Coordinate orientation and education of ED technicians in collaboration with the department educators
- 2)Identify ongoing educational needs among the ED technicians and collaborate with the department educators/managers
- 3)Coordinate, educate and maintain all point of care testing utilized in the emergency department
- 4)Develop and hold bi-annual skills day for ED technicians
- 5)Functions as/works as an ED technician
Education/Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent 2-4 years experience in emergency department or pre-hospital experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Proficient with PC skills and knowledge of equipment within an emergency department. Good communication and customer relation skills. Good organization and math skills.
- Certified CNA, EMT-B, LPN or medical assistant.
Physicial Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Self directed, minimal supervision required. Ability to prioritize, plan and execute. Ability to give clear directions. Possess strong critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills. Pocess strong detail and result oriented skill. Must adhere to the behaviors of excellence and be a team player.
- If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
