Multi Unit Nurse Externship – May 2025 grads
Aurora Sinai has an innovative program for nursing students interested in gaining additional skills, and seeking to develop their nursing process in preparation to becoming a graduate nurse. In this program nursing students will have the opportunity to complete rotations in three units at Aurora Sinai. Each month the student will move to a different unit with opportunity to learn about the unit's patient population, unit's culture, leaders and interact with staff.
Units included:
Med Surg Ortho
Acute Care for the Elderly/Stroke
Cardiac Medical Telemetry
At the end of the externship the nursing student will promote to a graduate nurse position in the area that best fits their skills, interests and professional goals.
The nurse extern program at Aurora Sinai aims to narrow the gap between nursing school and professional nursing. Nurse externs have historically been more successful in the transition into the nursing profession, many times requiring shorter orientation than students who did not complete an externship. This is a great opportunity to start a career in nursing at a site committed to service and Health Equity.
Candidates must be available to start December 23, 2024 or January 6, 2025 and be available 1 day a week until graduation.
