The part time, 0.8 FTE, Weekend Program Overnight position.Every Friday 1230 PM to 11 PMEvery Saturday 7 PM to 7:30 AMEvery Sunday 6 PM to 0630 AM
$2,500 sign-on bonu
Major Responsibilities:
- Performance of a comprehensive array of sophisticated non-invasive procedures demonstrating the appropriate anatomy of interest.
- 1)Independently provides complete and accurate images for diagnostic purposes.
- Documentation of patient history.
- 3)Communicates “Wet Read” reports to physician offices.
- 1)Records patient medical information.
- 2)Explains the test procedures to the patient.
- Ensures a secure and safe patient and work environment by maintaining a continued awareness of safety hazard labels.
- 1)Complies with procedural standards in the care of our patient population.
- 2)Assists with proper positioning of patients as necessary(protective measures).
- 3)Cleans, prepares, and sanitizes all transducers according to manufacturer recommendations and established infection control standards.
- 4)Applies sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination to patients and instruments.
- 5)Maintains adequate supplies for the needs of the Ultrasound Department.
- Provides technical support for smooth and efficient operation of the Ultrasound Department.
- 1)Provides encounter forms for completed procedures which are ready for billing.
- 2)Communicates with other departments to successfully schedule various exams for the patient.
- 3)Interacts closely with the site Manager providing for a smooth daily operation of the department.
- 4)Attends regularly scheduled department meetings and in-services.
- 5)Helps in answering telephones and scheduling patients as needed.
- Responsible for staying abreast with the latest ultrasound developments.
- 1)Obtains membership in local, state, or national societies.
- 2)Attends continuing education seminars.
- 3)Maintains professional accreditation.
- 4)Participates in CQI projects.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months unless department leader has determined it is not required, and
- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months unless department leader has determined it is not required, and
- Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) needs to be obtained within 3 months unless department leader has determined it is not required, or
- Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) needs to be obtained within 3 months unless department leader has determined it is not required, or
- Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) needs to be obtained within 3 months unless department leader has determined it is not required, and
- Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by the ARDMS needs to be obtained within 18 months unless department leader has determined it is not required, or
- Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) needs to be obtained within 18 months unless department leader has determined it is not required, and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.
Education/Experience Required:
- Graduate of AMA approved School of Ultrasound. Must be able to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age group patients treated. Registered or Registry Eligible
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Excellent skills in performing abdomen, some OB/GYNE, some vascular and Small Parts ultrasound exams. Excellent knowledge in pathology in the named above.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Requires good judgment, needs to be responsible, reliable, and work independently. Need to be flexible in working hours, and on-call rotation. Needs to have good people skills and patient care skills.
- If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
