Midshift, nights and/or weekends
- Provision of high quality neurodiagnostic testing in a timely and cost effective manner. This may include, but is not limited to electroencephalographic testing (routine, inpatient, outpatient, portable, extended (with or without video).
- 1)Obtain pertinent patient history from patient/parent/caregiver/chart
- 2)Applies electrodes (probe) in proper positions, checks integrity of application, calibrates as necessary.
- 3)Records EEG data with standard montages for either adult/pediatric/neonatal as appropriately determined. Modifies montages as appropriate for patient diagnosis or per physician instructions.
- 4)Recognizes artifact and troubleshoots to eliminate artifact. Documents any changes in patient condition/events while recording EEG data. Also mark any potential abnormalities.
- 5)Uses activation procedures as appropriate for each patient.
- Patient Satisfaction
- 1)Participates in departmental activites to improve/maintain patient satisfaction (AIDET,service recovery, new initiatives).
- 2)Participates in Advocate wide initiatives as appropriate.
- Departmental Documentation
- 1)Charges patient in appropriate system
- 2)Maintain daily statistics/log of departmental activity.
- 3)Prepare physician documentation.
- 4)Ensure appropriate report of procedure is completed and in patient record.
- 5)Ensure reports are faxed to the referring doctors.
- Maintenance of EEG lab and supplies
- 1)Maintains adquete inventory of supplies in department
- 2)Appropriately stores supplies in department
- 3)Informs manager/supervisor of any special department needs
- 4)Keeps work area/department/equipment clean and orderly
- 5)Keeps work area safe, notifies manager/supervisor of any safety concerns.. Completes online safety event report when needed.

- 1)Maintain equipment in optimal working order
- 2)Contacts Bio-Med or Building Opertions as needed for equipment repair
- 3)Maintain working knowledge of all departmental equipment
- Professional/Personal Growth Activities
- 1)Completes all Advocate mandatory education
- 2)Particpates in 70% of team meetings
- 3)Reviews current literature. Keep himself/ herself up to date with changes in EEG technology field.
- 4)Participates in departmental/hospital wide projects and activities as assigned
- 5)Assist in orientation and training of new associates/students .

- Scheduling
- 1)Patients will be scheduled for outpatient procedures through central scheduling or departmental scheduling.
- 2)Inpatients will be scheduled according to departmental standards for triage.
Education/Experience Required:
- High school education 1-2 years formal EEG training or experience Eligible to sit in EEG board exam
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Good communication, people and organizational skills Experience with computers
- CPR Certification

Ability to bend and/or kneel for a length of time. Ability to move equipment to do portable procedures. Ability to meet flexible staffing needs. Ability to do light or medium lifting. May be exposed to life threatening diseases.
- If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
