Position Requirements: ~High School diploma or equivalent.~1 year related experience required.(Surgical Tech. Sterile Processing Tech or Scope Tech. etc)~Previous experience in handling medical equipment and medical supplies preferred.~Able to print Surgery Schedule and Surgeon Preference lists independently. ~Speaks clearly write legibly and ability to pronounce medical supply and equipment names. ~Ability to follow directions from Lead Tech or Manager. ~Willingness to enroll in Central Service Technician class~Central Service TechnicianCertified within 18 months of hire. ~Long periods of standing and walking.~Little to no sitting while working.~Frequent contact with blood and body fluids.~TB testing yearly.~Hepatitis testing at hire.~Ability to rotate to any shift work weekends and holidays to facilitate adequate operation of department.~Ability to respond quickly to emergency situation with full motor function.~Strength and dexterity to handle sterilization equipment and supplies.~Ability to physically respond to fire and trauma disaster codes.~ Ability to handle high stress and to critically think and to follow through in emergency situations.~Ability to perform heavy lifting (approximately 30~40 Lbs.).Purpose: To provide all areas of the hospital with sterilization of instrumentation ensuring a quality product for patient care by executing established proceedures for decontamination assembly packaging and sterilization.Accountabilities:Decontamination of Instruments and Specialty TraysPerformance of Steam SterilizationPerformance of inventory/storage/distribution functionsPerformance of Plasma Hydrogen Peroxide Sterilization:Validation of Equipment TestedPerformance of Assembly/Packing/WrappingMaintenance of Effective Functions in the DepartmentImplementation of Quality Improvement Ideas to Enhance Operation and Team FunctionAddendum: NOTE: An employee is required to to be registered with 2 years experience or completion of a college level certification cl
