Hours typically 8AM – 5PM Monday – Friday, additional/alternate hours may be required.This is a remote role; however, living in Chicago or Charlotte is a plus. Advocate may approve remote workers who reside in the following registered states: AL, AK, AR, AZ, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, LA, KS, KY, ME, MI, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WV, WY.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Cash Positioning – includes daily cash positioning across banks, cash forecasting, wire disbursements, evaluation of liquidity across entities/accounts.  Partner with the investment office on forecast liquidity needs.  Analyze cash receipt and disbursement procedures, armored car services, and process flows to drive expense savings.
  • Bank Relationships / Services – maintain strong relationships across various banks and service providers and meet regularly to understand current services and evaluate new offerings, stay apprised of cash management technology and identify ways to create efficiency within Advocate processes, monitor and negotiate favorable pricing strategies.
  • Account Management – manage bank account structure including signatories and user security, analyze bank fees and pricing trends, maintain master account listing by entity and collateral position for governmental funds.
  • Merchant Services – oversight for all merchant services administration for the system, including review and alignment of payment flow processes, evaluation and standardization of processor/gateway relationships, partnering with IT/PCI security to achieve compliance across the system, work with outsourced vendors to streamline merchant account processes, analyze and reduce credit card fees.
  • Treasury Workstation – manage the treasury workstation and onboard all system accounts, leverage the system capabilities to streamline analysis, forecasting and transactions, and partner with accounting to optimize the reconciliation processes and interface with the general ledger.
  • Reporting, audit support and other treasury-related duties as required.
  • Supervise and review work of cash management team, establish goals and conduct performance evaluations, recommend hiring/termination.  The role will coordinate annual budget development for interest income and bank and credit card fees and the development of corporate policies related to cash management processes.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, business or finance.

Experience Required:

  • 8-10 years

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Strategic thinker with a solid understanding of finance/accounting treatment of cash-related concepts and a focus on maximizing yield and efficiency.
  • Ability to assess, recommend, and implement products, services, technologies, and systems that are available and appropriate for treasury operations.
  • Track record of negotiating service fees and driving down cost through process redesign.
  • Experience navigating multiple projects with competing timelines and creating an organized process flow.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable presenting analysis and findings to executives.
  • Must be detail-oriented with ability to reconcile across multiple data sources and provide reporting that requires minimal review.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead and encourage a high-performing, integrated finance team.
  • Solid Excel and PowerPoint skills and ability to summarize complex information for executive leadership.

  • This position is remote and requires stable setup for virtual meetings, etc.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
