Education/Experience Required:
- High school graduate with knowledge of biological and physical sciences 6 months
- 1 year formal EEG training or 1-2 years EEG experience
- Complete inhouse training program or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Good communication skills Computer Skills
- Must be agreeable to become eligible for certification with American Board of Registration for EEG technicians (ABRET)
- CPR Certification AHA BLS within 30 days of hire
Major Responsibilities:
- Provision of high quality Neurodiagnostic Testing in a timely and cost effective manner.
- 2)- Trains and orients Flex EEG staff and monitors EEG tracing to ensure consistent quality testing.
- 3)- Stays current with latest technology and procedures in neurodiagnostics.
- 4)Sets up weekend on call coverage schedule and fills in gaps where needed.
- 1)- Performs standard and complex EEG recordings on inpatients and out patients. Follows Infection Control policy .
- Maintenance of accurate Neurodiagnostic Records.
- 4)Insures, copy of report goes to ordering physician
- 1)- Keeps monthly statistics of all neurodiagnostic tests.
- 2)- Files reports and maintains medical records according to hospital protocol.
- 3)Readys paperwork for physicians for dictation.
- Maintenance of inventory and equipment in a cost effective manner.
- 1)- Submits list of needed supplies to manager and ordering office coordinator. Is responsible for inventory and supply use.
- 2)- Monitors equipment, anticipating malfunctions to avoid patient delays or cancellations. Notifies IT and manager of equipment issues.
- 3)Handles equipment in a delicate mannor, taking care of wires and other sensors, as far as cleaning, storage and general use.
- 4)Responsible for EEG Department order, state of repair and cleaning.
- Participation in department continuous quality assurance, department meetings and continuing education.

- 1)Attend department meetings.
- 2)Up keep of Net Learning and other educational requirements as needed.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift and/or move patients. Heavy lifting: Lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly. This position can recognize needs and behaviors of the following age groups: pediatric (newborn, toddler, school age), adolescent, adult, and older adult. Evidence of this can be shown by recognizing levels of development and modifying approach and exhibiting communication skills necessary to interpret age specific responses as well as the physically and mentally challenged.
- If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
