Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Monday through Friday 3:30p-12amOversite of Oshkosh and Fond du Lac EVS 2nd/3rd shift requires travel between sites as needed.
- Inspects work in progress and upon completion for quality and timeliness of completion
- 1)Observes Environmental Services and Linen associates performing job tasks to evaluate competence
- 2)Conducts new associate training and department orientation
- 3)Conducts on-going education of staff; annual safety competencies etc.
- 4)Responsible for the implementation of all department policies and procedures. Involved in implementing new initiatives and programs.
- 5)Ensures staff assignments are completed and deadlines are met
- 6)Ensures timely cleaning of beds/rooms/areas for patient admissions/transfers/treatment. Monitors bed board and demonstrates excellent skills in the use of teletracking.
- 7)Completes sanitation quality control check list and provides feedback to Environmental Services staff and customers
- 8)Participates in weekly Environmental of Care Rounds with Infection Control and/or safety personnel to evaluate cleanliness of areas. Participates in committees such as Hazmat committee etc as necessary.
- 9)Conducts patient interviews and follows through on complaints/issues
- 10)Responds to facility emergencies (ie floods) with appropriate staff and equipment
- Performs general supervisory duties
- 1)Initiates disciplinary actions and recommends termination of associates in accordance with departmental and hospital policy. Provides supporting documentation to management regarding issues related to corrective actions.
- 2)Completes and submits performance reviews for all Environmental services and Linen staff.
- 3)Interviews candidates for open positions and recommends hiring of staff
- 4)Issues supplies to staff and ensures adherence to cost containment programs
- 5)Inspects equipment and supplies for cleanliness ,adequacy and working order
- 6)Promotes safe work practices. Maintains all required logs and manifests. Implements continuing education programs in order to meet hospital regulations and standards.
- 7)Reports items in need of repair or replacement to appropriate hospital personnel and follows through on all requests
- 8)Provides associate support and counseling regarding job-related problems and/or performance issues. Assures that company policies are administered fairly and consistently
- Plans and supervises the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services and Linen Department. Including Meeting reservations and set up.
- 1)Prepares schedules and assignments ensuring all job tasks are assigned and areas are properly staffed. Also assigns special project work. Evaluates PTO requests and approves or denies based on the needs of the department. Monitors staff arrivals and departures.
- 2)Ensures all cleaning frequencies are scheduled and completed within specified time frames
- 3)Provides daily instructions and assignments to staff
- 4)Meets with all area managers to evaluate/schedule project cleaning needs
- 5)Attends construction meetings to plan for equipment and cleaning needs and meet established deadlines for occupancy
- 6)Follows through on verbal and written work order requests. Makes assignments to ensure customer and patient needs are met in a timely manner.
- 7)Places orders for all needed supplies and equipment for the Environmental Services and Linen departments. Follows through on orders resolving any backorder issues to ensure needed supplies are available at all times. Meets with various vendor representatives on a regular basis. Keeps track of and maintains all AV and meeting room equipment to ensure customer needs are met.
- 8)Edits and maintains associate timecards. Prepares timecards for approval. Maintains associate attendance records.
Education/Experience Required:
- • High School Diploma or equivalent. • 3 years leadership experience in a service department (hospital setting preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- • Good supervisory skills in scheduling, planning, evaluating,training and coaching Environmental Services Associates required. • Good skills in identifing and resolving conflicts constructively • Strong verbal and written communication skills required. . Strong organizational and prioritizing skills. – Strongly detailed and results oriented. – Strong interpersonal skills. • Highly motivated, exercises initiative. . Strong computer skills and strong skills in using Microsoft Word and Excel
