Major Responsibilities:

  • Manages the development and execution of information technology demands and projects. Ensures adherence to budget, schedule, and scope. Establishes targets, benchmarks, and success criteria for project delivery. Plans, organizes, controls, and evaluates projects from concept phase to implementation. Ensures effective utilization of all demand and/or project resources, people, and equipment, through all phases of the demand or project to achieve project goals and to ensure project remains fiscally on target 
  • Develops demands based on the initial idea request. Captures information such as stakeholders, objectives, requirements, desired dates, milestones, budget estimates, and resource needs. Captures, seeks to eliminate, and monitors risk throughout the approval life cycle. Captures decisions or assumptions made, issues identified, and records actions taken. Monitors and reviews demand approval progress 
  • Develops project plans including information such as project objectives, requirements, scheduling, funding, staffing, risk management, and change management. Continuous tracking of deliverables to project objectives 
  • Identifies, mitigates, and tracks potential risks during the entire project lifecycle and manages the execution of mitigation plans when triggered manages changes in project scope, schedule, and budget using established change control processes 
  • Monitors, reviews, and documents progress towards project milestones and deliverables, actively evaluating the quality of work. Uses project management skills to ensure that projects are completed within established budgets and timeframes 
  • Serves as a point-person for assigned projects or demands. Participate in demand and/or project team meetings and assist in documenting action items, user requirements and project schedules. Communicates with appropriate responsible demand and/or project stakeholders regarding status. Recognizes issues needing escalation and communicates promptly to appropriate management 
  • Leads the daily work efforts, assigning duties and responsibilities to demand and/or project team members. Acts as a resource to other teammates regarding demand subject matter or project management methodologies. Provides quality assurance on all aspects of project, Works with appropriate resources to place orders, contact vendors and assist in scheduling the deployment/development team. Utilizes estimates and knowledge of delivery lead-time to set the appropriate deadlines and to complete the stages of the workplan most efficiently 
  • Conducts post-implementation evaluations and lessons learned sessions to assess project outcomes, ensure benefits and quality standards are met, and capture key insights. Also contributes lessons learned to the Organization’s Process Assets (OPA’s) and knowledge base 
  • Contributes toward achieving department performance goals 
  • Demonstrate understanding in leveraging Organizational Change Management concepts and methodology to facilitate smooth transitions and maximize adoption of new processes, technologies, and initiatives within our dynamic work environment 

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None

Education Required:

  • ​​ Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Information Technology or related field 

Experience Required:

  • ​​Typically requires 1 year of experience in project management within Information Technology with a proven record of successful project delivery

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Ability to interpret and present basic technical analysis in non-technical terms for management reporting 
  • Ability to interact and work through technical requirements with stakeholders to formulate demand and/or project design and implementation requirements with a strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving by utilizing information from vendors and teammates and to adapt workplan priorities 
  • Experience with risk identification, assessment, and contingency planning 
  • Experience using demand and/or project management methodologies and processes 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools 
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills 
  • Advanced interpersonal and both written and verbal communication skills, in addition to strong organizational skills 
  • Ability to work and remain flexible in a dynamic environment with multiple dependencies, multiple departments, and multiple projects. Ability to set priorities and accomplish assignments in a thorough and timely fashion 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • This position requires travel, as a result, exposure to varying weather and road conditions 
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job 
  • Exposed to a normal office environment 
  • Evening or weekend hours may be required on occasion dependent upon project requirements
