Major Responsibilities:

  • Track and review each breast imaging report for accuracy. Review any discrepancy with radiologist. Enter the appropriate recommendations and follow-up of every report into the Breast Care Summary within EPIC.   

  • Review of all pathology results and malignant staging information for breast biopsy procedures performed at their location.  Transcribe these results into the patients Breast Care Summary within EPIC. 

  • Contact patients to schedule additional views, technical repeats and imaging guided biopsies  recommended by radiologists. Place call comments in Track Rec portion of EPIC and contact provider for additional orders as needed.

  • Responsible for generating daily and weekly reports for  review and follow-up in accordance with regulatory agencies, including but not limited to daily letter verification report to assure all letters were mailed in accordance with FDA Regulations, MQSA report to look for outstanding patient results, 10 Day Hold to follow images being held for review with outside priors, Bi-Rad 0 to track patients who have not scheduled additional imaging as recommended, and addendum to capture & result any addended reports and mail appropriate letters. 

  • Performs continuous monitoring of outstanding patients to schedule 6-month follow up, Bi-Rad 0 additional imaging, MRI and biopsy recommendations.  

  • Answers and screens telephone calls from patients and insurance companies pertaining to coverage of breast imaging studies  

  • Send certified letters as required by Radiology Services policies for patients who have not scheduled appropriate follow-up imaging. 

  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards. 

 

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.

Education Required:

  • High School Graduate.

Experience Required:

  • Typically requires two years of experience in customer service, scheduling, and/or administrative support duties.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology 

  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Proficient problem solving skills 

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment 

  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal), build rapport and relate to all people Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office or similar products, including maintaining, tracking, and entering data in a database and/or spreadsheet software. 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Exposed to a normal office environment.
  • Must have functional speech, vision and hearing.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
