Schedule Details/Additional Information:
- Schedule is generally Monday – Friday, but on-call responsibility is required
- We will offer the possibility of working from home a few days per month after the training period has been completed
- We are adding to our Team! This role will cover our Cudahy and Downtown Milwaukee Campuses, ensuring all emergency services are in full compliance with all program policies/processes and state and local requirements.
- Assists the EMS medical director in maintaining the competency of all staff providing program services, identifies and consistently applies the utilization of "best practice".
- Establishes and enhances educational training for out-of-hospital providers in collaboration with leadership.
- Works directly with EMS providers, Fire and Law Enforcement personnel to advance programs and patient care delivery systems.
- Maintains quality control and acts as a resource.
Coordinates, monitors and evaluates safety initiatives such as emergency preparedness and Environment of Care functions. - Assesses conditions by conducting building inspections, environmental rounds, safety inspections, and various performance improvement initiatives.
- Coordinates all activities related to emergency preparedness including preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Intermediate or Paramedic license issued by the state of Wisconsin, preferred
- National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Intermediate (NREMT-Intermediate) certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), preferred
- EMS Instructor I certification issued by the State of Wisconsin needs to be obtained within 18 months
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA),
- A valid drivers license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety or related field.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in safety, environment of care, and emergency preparedness.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- EMS instructor coordinator certification required or able to obtain.
- Wisconsin Critical Care Paramedic endorsement required for Paramedics.
- Knowledge of Wisconsin EMS System components, statues, codes, guidelines, technical college system and EMS education.
- Experience demonstrating leadership skill, initiative and personal management.
- Strong Microsoft software skills including: PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Knowledge of modern telecommunications equipment including data and telemetry transmission.
- Demonstrated leadership skills including decision making, team building, customer service, and conflict resolution.
- Planning, physician relationships, project management and strong interpersonal skills.
- Must have acceptable driving record according to Aurora policy and standards.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
- Must have speaking and hearing abilities to communicate/instruct class.
- Position requires travel. May be exposed to weather and road hazards.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
