Major Responsibilities:
- Serves as liaison with Enterprise and Regional Finance teams to analyze revenue and volume data. Partners with pharmacy operational leaders to identify and aggregate variance explanations to provide to Finance and Senior Leaders.
- Supports Supply Chain and Pharmacy leaders in forecasting to model impact of new contracts and / or new clinical practices to guide decision support.
- Builds tools to audit and ensure the accuracy of data feeds from Epic to third party administrator vendors to support the integrity of the 340B program.
- Serves as a liaison between Finance, Revenue Cycle, Compliance, Pharmacy and other departments to standardize and optimize pharmacy charging workflows, pharmacy revenue, business processes, denial management and collections.
- Develops analytical tools to audit and analyze pharmacy revenue reports to ensure accurate billing and revenue capture. As issues arise, partners with IT and Compliance to address.
- Actively researches and stays current with important billing and revenue related compliance and optimization topics to guide appropriate organizational topics.
- Develops policies, guidelines, and procedures for pharmaceutical coding, billing, pricing, and denial management to maximize reimbursement and compliant charging.
- Provides education to site and system stakeholders to drive optimal revenue capture.
- Designs and directs the work of the assigned area(s) of responsibility. Selects, coaches, and develops teams, setting objectives that align with organizational strategy to inspire and motivate the teams. Manages organizational talent through performance management, succession planning, and development. Designs and directs processes by which team and individual performance are recognized, feedback is consistently delivered, and performance is systematically improved.
- Develops and/or recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that people actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the organization's business.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Licensed as a pharmacist in state of practice.
Education Required:
- Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school.
Experience Required:
- Three years health-system pharmacy experience or equivalent. Previous leadership experience with demonstrated responsibility for financial performance preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities including exceptional prioritization, decision making, delegation, team building, customer service and conflict resolution. Demonstrated ability to lead and direct team members.
- Proven project management skills including project design, implementation and training.
- Experience with long range planning and process standardization across multiple sites.
- Excellent oral and written skills. Must be able to interact effective with vendors, pharmacy and hospital leaders.
- Advanced knowledge of health-system pharmacy operations.
- Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite and / or similar products.
- Ability to problem solve and proactively address issues, resulting in positive outcomes.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- This position may require travel, therefore, may be exposed to weather and road conditions.
- Able to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Must have fine motor manipulation of hands and wrists to use computer keyboard.
- Exposed to a normal office environment. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
