Major Responsibilities:
Leverages pharmacist clinical skills and informatics skills to support the medication electronic health record. Effectively staffs in practice area and serves as a liaison regarding clinical informatics.
Develops informatics plans, data analysis, and systems that advance evidence-based practice, improve medication safety, and optimize medication related workflows.
Designs, evaluates, and implements new electronic health record build to support clinical practice and improve the quality and safety of patient care.
Consults with providers, leadership, physicians, and other clinicians to evaluate pharmacy/medication information systems. Provides critical link between medication workflows and technology by effectively analyzing and communicating complex informatics issues.
Supports informatics solutions for clinical and operational improvements.
Assists in the creation of data analytics to facilitate data review and improve performance.
Develops and implements automated clinical rules supporting patient care.
Consults with external agencies and organizations to ensure compliance with local, state, federal and other regulatory requirements.
Able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required:
Licensed pharmacist in WI and/or IL
Epic Willow Certification within 1 year
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy. Doctor of Pharmacy preferred. PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency preferred.
Experience Required:
Requires 3 years of experience clinical pharmacy practice, PGY2 residency training in pharmacy informatics, or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Ability to function as the interface between clinicians and other technical experts, analyzing business and clinical processes, and providing user advanced training/education.
Ability to define project goals and create project plans which includes research, modeling, identifying milestones, and resource allocation plans.
Effective decision-making and problem solving skills.
Conceptual knowledge of information applications and system integration.
Understanding of pharmacy information systems and the capabilities of available technologies in the marketplace.
Maintains clinical pharmacist expertise in order to appropriately apply to electronic medical record work.
Understanding of cultural and organizational change management processes, including workflow analysis, process redesign, and benefits analysis/measurement.
Establishing excellent working relationships with individuals and teams at various levels from various fields of expertise.
Excellent communication skills to interpret, present, and lead projects in coordination with various clinical and administrative leaders.
Proficient computer skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access desirable.
