Major Responsibilities:
Process patient meal selections and tray.
5)Pass food trays making sure you have census sheets to ensure each patients receives a tray.
6)Knock on patient door wait for a respond. Announce yourself, food service, call the patient by name and ask for date of birth. If patient does not respond check ID band to verify you are delivering the tray to the correct patient.
7)Collect trays from each patient room.
8)Obtain menu selection for next meal.
9)Make a courtesy round to unit gathering any late trays or menus that may have been missed. Make sure all patients have received a tray. Address and resolve patient concerns through phone.
10)Collect updated census sheet and make necessary adjustments to menus.
1)Run census sheets, check menus against census sheet add new admits or take out any NPO's and discharges.
2)Check trays on trayline to ensure that tray has everything that is marked on menu and meets diet.
3)Go to nursing unit check with unit secretary. Give her your assigned phone number and name.
4)Obtain from unit secretary NPO list and compare it to census sheet. Pull all trays that are on NPO.
Maintains nursing units stocked with floor par stock.
1)Check assigned unit refrigerator for any floor par stock that may need to be replenish. Discard any outdated products.
2)Fill out the floor stock sheet for unit gather all items needed. Place tray on top of food cart.
3)Deliver floor par stock to unit obtain a signature from unit secretary verifying they have received stock.
4)Gather and deliver night snacks for unit.
5)Prepare food tally for cooks.
Participation in self development by attending mandatory inservices and education programs appropriate to the goals and needs of the department.
8)Submit ideas for reducing department expenses and maintaining budget.
1)Attends all department/hospital inservices and other meetings as required.
2)Must complete an annual CBT.
3)Participate in the Associate Satisfaction Survey.
4)Submits ideas for changes or improvement to manager.
5)Willing to interact with co-workers in a team atmoshere in order to help find a better way to perform the job.
6)Ensures compliance to all regulatory agencies standards.
7)Participate in efforts to monitor and improve patient satisfaction through Press Ganey Scores.
Education/Experience Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. 6month-1yr experience in healthcare environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Good Customer Service Skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to communicate with customers. Billingual skills desired. Ability to do medium lifting between 20 to 50 pounds occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and/or up 10 pounds constantly. Ability to push and pull associated with duties.
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
