Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Salaried position upporting the Midwest Region
Provides operational oversite of corporate services that support enterprise-wide facility operations, to include hospital campuses, ambulatory clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and other facilities throughout the enterprise. Conducts research, data collection, evaluation, and analysis to drive continuous improvement. Strong leadership qualities, communication, and listening skills will enable efficiencies and innovation to ensure Advocate Health is at the cutting edge of facilities management.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manages and oversees the planning, operation, and direction of the facilities corporate service(s) team to ensure success and effective operations.
- Provides oversight support and responsibilities for Facilities Management contracts, metrics, and analytics across the enterprise.
- Develops metrics, scorecards, and analytics of data and information to help Facilities team to become more efficient in the delivery of services and support.
Specific responsibilities may include, but not be limited to:
- Produces metrics and scorecards to display ongoing financial performance for the facilities departments.
- Analyzes, forecasts, and displays data depicting resource utilization and incorporates results into maintenance practice models for further review with the facilities leaders.
- Performs analysis of outsourcing work to third party vendors compared to insourcing work to Advocate teammates for the best outcomes to meet the business needs.
- When external support is needed, works closely with internal contract teams to produce a specific contract scope of work description for the services/support needed by a third-party vendor for the betterment of the department.
- Prepares/produces root cause analysis of selected situations and events for awareness, learning and practice changes for improved performance of the facilities teams.
- Works with facilities teammates to prepare/produce drawings, documents, and training materials to support the connection external utility systems to existing utility systems in the event of emergency utility system failures.
- Works with internal and external resources to prepare ongoing facilities teammate learning programs and growth opportunities to develop staff for current/future responsibilities to support the needs of the department.
Training Management
- Provides leadership that supports a facilities training program that develops teammate growth and maintains consistency of training and skill sets to support a highly expertise work force.
- Designs and directs the work of the team(s). Selects, coaches, and develops team(s). Sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manages performance by recognizing achievement, providing feedback, and administering progressive discipline when necessary.
- May develop and/or recommend operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that people actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations, and laws applicable to the organization's business.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Industry certifications and/or license specific to area of responsibility may be required.
Education Required:
- Associate’s degree in a directly related field accepted with a minimum five (5) years of progressive healthcare or directly related industry leadership experience.
Experience Required:
- Five (5) years minimum work experience in facilities functions. Includes minimum of three (3 years in a leadership role, preferably in healthcare environment. Five (5) years accepted with Associate’s degree meeting other qualifications listed above)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Exceptional oral and written communications and team building skills are required.
- Excellent skills in mobile technology, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, scheduling software, accounting spreadsheets, computerized maintenance management and building automation.
- Understanding of Environment of Care / regulatory environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local codes governing facilities operations and facilities safety.
- Knowledge of construction, planning, mechanical, HVAC and electrical design and operation.
