Demonstration of leadership and development of department personnel.
1)Facilitates the use of Assistant Clinical Managers to oversee the day-to-day unit operations.
2)Ensures effective and efficient staff patterns to meet patient volumes and care needs.
3)Coordinates the hiring of all staff with other supervisors and staff as appropriate.
4)Oversees the educational activities of staff and works with the Advanced Practice Nurse/ Clinical Practice Specialists to encourage and facilitate maximum employee development and growth.
5)Promotion of an environment that is conducive to staff growth and development, job satisfaction, and team development, job satisfaction, and team development.
6)Conducts performance reviews for staff.
7)Approves and communicates performance ratings and salary adjustments.
8)Ensures job descriptions are written for positions and are up-to-date.
9)Implements and coordinates disciplinary procedures across the department.
10)Monitors and facilitates the resolution of performance problems. 11. Conducts and facilitates staff meetings relating to department, hospital, and corporate activities. 12. Management and facilitation of staff to assure responsibility to practice quality care that will enhance patient outcomes.

1) Collects data that represents all aspects of department operations.
2) Monitors data that represent all aspects of department operations.
3)Develops policies, procedures and practices that support and meet Accrediting Organization as well as Advocate, Advocate Childrens Hospital , and CHMC guidelines.
4) Approves and implements policies, procedures and practices.
5) Identifies areas for operations efficiency improvements and makes recommendations.
6) Participates in the development of long and short-range goals and objectives.
7) Participates in the development and implementation of new services.
8) Accountable for operations on a twenty-four hour basis.
9) Participates in the marketing of department services.
10) Identification, acceptance, and incorporation of changes in a hospital environment.
Monitoring, and analysis of operating and capital budget.
1) Monitors budget and provide monthly variance analysis.
2) Recommends and oversees measures to control expenses and/or enhance revenues.
3) Conducts and assists with the development of program proposals and feasibility studies.
4) Monitors department productivity levels as they correlate with resource efficiency as well as profitability.
5) Provides recommendations for budget forecasts.
6) Develops major equipment purchase proposals.
Development and maintenance of relationships with other departments, system wide contacts, and external contacts in order to meet department goals and objectives.

4)Ensures department compliance with all regulatory agency standards, i.e., federal, state, city, Accrediting Organization, IDPH, etc.

1)Promotes patient safety by reporting and following through on issues through established channels and participating in safety initiatives.
Licensure:
Nurse, Registered (RN)
Education/Experience Required:
– Bachelor’s degree in a Healthcare related field or Equivalent in experience. – 2 years experience in Healthcare management Preferred.
