Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Will be responsible for a weekend and holiday rotation. Hours could vary. Need to have good communication skills and empathy.
Perform diagnostic PACS, Powerscribe, File room, and Clerical support duties to meet patient, radiologists, physician, physician office staff and department needs. Provide reception services for all outpatient testing under Diagnostic Imaging, Cardiology, Outpatient Lab and Outpatient nursing to minimize patient wait times.
1)Review all current imaging exams and manages film archive by retrieving pervious hard copy film for radiologist interpretation. File retrieval for surgical schedule, dexa scans and comparison studies for outpatient testing from outside storage facility utilizing computer system.
2)Process exam copy requests utilizing PACS system: complete release of information form, obtain signature and copy of identification prior to release; verify CD contents to ensure all images were captured; supply film copies when requested.Utilize PACS to print hard copy films from soft copy images. Use the PACS Cube to produce image CDs for departments and clinics as required.
3)Digitize hard copy films as required for storage/interpretation on PACS. Utilize the Digitizer to import previous Mammograms into the PACS system for interpretation.
4)Maintain Call Log by documenting reporting of STAT and abnormal reports to caregiver. Complete legal case requests upon approval receipt.
5)Process requisitions for departments, communicate patient arrivals to departments, call areas regarding STAT’s, process TBA requisitions and reprint requisitions utilizing computer system.
6)Enhance patient experience by communicating any wait times and obtaining information as requested. Assist patient to changing area, explain dressing instructions in detail helping patient dress if necessary and secure locker for patient.
7)Maintain adequate stocking of supplies and cleanliness of work area to include the changing rooms.
8)Exhibit excellent customer service and communication skills.
9)Initiate screening tool form for MRI Patients.
Perform departmental quality assurance program to insure optimal equipment utilization
1) Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the department
2)Assist technologists in assigned work area with patients as needed.
3)Notifies the Coordinator / Manager of issues that require troubleshooting.
4)Perform daily reports resolution – Turnaround Time, Completed w/o report, Transcription productivity, etc.
5)Perform daily PACS maintance on the Verified, Dictated, and Ordered worklist.
6)Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Coordinator / Manager.

5)Assist in other functional areas as directed by the Coordinator / Manager, including but not restricted to – patient escort, guest services, reception duties, scheduling, order entry, etc.

B. CT Assistant/CT Technologist Relationship 1. Communicate the needs/concerns of the patient to the Technologist. 2. Review all discrepancies on patient history/screening forms to the technologist. 3. Assist the technologist with difficult patients, maneuvering carts, transfers to and from the CT table, positioning the patient on the table. C. Documentation of Patient Data, Documentation of Department Records, Patient Appointment Confirmation, Communication with all Customers. 1. Obtain patient data from Radnet, Careconnection, physician offices, nursing floors, and patients. ie. (lab values, patient diagnosis, previous testing results, etc) 2. Review of outpatient schedule for discrepencies and accuracy, coordination of testing, confirm outpatient appointments with the patient, and communicate basic procedure explanations/ times to patients. 3. Answer phones using proper phone etiquette. Communicate basic information such as scheduling, exam times, and patient prep to nursing, physicians, and technologist.
Education/Experience Required:
• High school graduate • 1-2 years in a Radiology Film Room environment or equivalent experience in the medical field. • Familiarity with Medical Terminology. • Familiarity with RIS. • Understanding of PACS.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
• Basic computer knowledge. • Good interpersonal skills. • Excellent communication skills. • Strong focus on customer service. • Familiar with medical terminology

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
• Patient Confidentiality • Requires heavy lifting (Lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly.) • Requires excellent communication skills and must be self motivated • Ability to work in a fast paced, hectic and demanding environment. • Ability to work extra hours in times of heavy workload. • Ability to work extensively with computer screen and keyboard. • Ability to work weekends, holidays and different shifts in order to accommodate staffing needs. • Ability to take call on weekends.
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
