Schedule Details/Additional Information:
M- F days, with flexibility to come in on weekends as needed.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manages and has accountability including but not limited to: Environmental Services, Patient Transport and Linen Distribution functions for assigned site(s).
  • Contributes to quality improvement activities by making suggestions for improvements in processes and supports change efforts in the organization and department. Continually works toward increased efficiency using analytics and implementing industry best practice.
  • Ensures department operations are compliant with infection prevention practices, applicable policies, rules, regulations (federal, state, local, and accrediting agencies) and laws. Stays current with legal, regulatory, and policy development affecting areas of responsibility.
  • Drives patient satisfaction for department and site initiatives, ensures service level agreements are managed and maintained for internal customers.
  • Leads department level change by planning, designing, and implementing change initiatives. Accountable for monitoring and evaluating process improvement initiatives, ensuring complete execution and achievement of intended outcomes
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
  • Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization’s Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization’s business.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.

Education Required:

  • High School Graduate.

Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in environmental services.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Strong management and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members and leadership
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Work under and ability to manage stress
  • Critical thinking skills

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Physically able to walk for up to 35% of each workday as well as sit, walk, lift, squat, and bend.
  • Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 500 lbs. with mechanical assistance and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. when moving equipment or furniture.
  • May be exposed to dust and dirt.
  • May be exposed to chemical and radiation hazards. May also be exposed to blood or bodily fluids requiring appropriate clothing to be worn.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
