Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Monday-Friday onsite. Occasional Saturdays. Three Outpatient Infusion Centers including Cancer Supportive Services at: Advocate Christ Medical Center, Advocate South Suburban Hospital, and Advocate Trinity Hospital.***This role is eligible for a $5,000 sign on bonus.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Planning, management, implementation and evaluation to ensure quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Participates in short and long range strategic, financial and capital planning. Analyzes and plans for the needs of each area.
  • Establishes staffing requirements. Plans for the appropriate utilization of human resources.
  • Assesses acuity, caseload and complexity of patients to determine staffing levels.
  • Monitors quality of care and patient satisfaction, oversees implementation of measures to improve both.
  • Assumes 24 hour responsibility for assigned areas of operations.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to assure efficient operations consistent with hospital and system philosophy, policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates completion of marketing plans for the cardiovascular service line with the Director.
  • Conducts special projects and studies related to area activities, goals and objectives.
  • Supports and facilitates care management in conjunction with hospital protocols.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency standards, (i.e., federal, state and local governing bodies Accrediting Organization) all hospital policies and procedures.
  • Preparation and administration of budgets to ensure adequate personnel, facilities and supplies.
  • Completes forecasting for annual and long term budgets.
  • Coordinates completion of financial/program feasibility studies.
  • Plans and administers annual budgets and monitors budgetary expenditures, reports and justifies variances on an ongoing basis.
  • Assures efficient utilization of staff, supplies and equipment.
  • Identifies inventory levels and cost of supplies maintained in area.
  • Develops new and expanding program proposals with cost/budget implications.
  • Responsible for the selection, development, motivation and evaluation of staff.
  • Facilitates staff meetings relating to department(s), hospital and system activities.
  • Recruits selects, mentors and motivates direct reports to achieve area and personal goals and objectives.
  • Evaluates and conducts performance reviews for staff on a timely basis.
  • Coordinates recruitment activities, facilitates and promotes retention strategies.
  • Assesses educational needs of the staff and facilitates educational opportunities.
  • Assists individuals with identifying professional goals and provides opportunities to achieve those goals.
  • Ensures an adequate orientation program.
  • Implements and coordinates disciplinary procedures.
  • Monitors and facilitates the resolution of performance and/or other employee relations issues.
  • Maintenance of effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Collaborates with physicians, management and other healthcare professionals to assure delivery of quality care, patient and physician satisfaction and continual use of area services.
  • Actively participates in hospital committees and projects (CQI, marketing, etc.)
  • Networks with peers to assure that administrative and clinical standards integrate with department and hospital services.
  • Networks with professionals at other healthcare facilities for clinical standards.
  • Coordinates activities with various other hospitals departments to ensure patient satisfaction as well as cost effectiveness.
  • Responsible for personal and professional growth:
  • Stays abreast of current standards of care via literature, educational events, internal/external resources and networking.
  • Maintains memberships in community and professional organizations.
  • Participates in activities to enhance professional growth by involvement in professional organizations and continuing education.

Licensure:
Nurse, Registered (RN) AND

Education/Experience Required:
•Bachelors Degree required in health care related field focused in Outpatient Service line

•3-5 years of previous management experience

• 5 years previous clinical experience in Outpatient Service line. This position will need to recognize the needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e., understand normal patterns of adult behavior and look for signs of normal aging; prior experience with various age groups is preferred.

Oncology Experience Preferred
