Schedule Details/Additional Information:
3 12 hour shifts or rotating

Major Responsibilities:
Maintenance of the Unit and supplies.
1)Cleans and restocks support areas including patient room supplies.

2)Cleans medication counter area and maintain regulatory recommendations prep area.

3)Maintains laundry room.

4)Maintains check system for formula and food supply. Includes properly labeled food in refrigerator.

5)Responsible for decentralized laboratory equipment quality control and documentation.

6)Puts away storeroom orders.

Maintains par levels of Patient Care supplies and supplies related to specialty equipment in the Pediatric unit.
1)Picks up and delivers capital assets as appropriate.

2)Assists Manager in maintaining and monitoring all inventory and rental equipment.

3)Actively processes equipment through an identification system.

4)Actively organizes, rotates, and orders equipment and supplies.

5)Maintains all storage and equipment areas in an organized fashion.

6)Establishes and maintains par levels of patient and Clinician needed supplies in the Pediatric Unit including patient rooms and storage areas.

7)Maintains a clean and safe environment in the Pediatric Unit.

8)Inventories and restocks department supplies in the Pediatric Unit. Establishes and maintains room supply needs based on location and specialty area needs. (Medication rooms and Treatment rooms)

9)Works closely with Supply Chain management.

Establishes systems for cost effective patient care through supply management and appropriate communciation systems.
1)Keeps Managers informed of any unusual or hazardous real or potential situations regarding supplies and equipment.

2)Establishes and maintains room supply needs based on location and specialty area needs. (Medication rooms and Treatment rooms)

3)Instructs others on the appropriate room stock and location of supplies.

4)Communicates with Materials Management/Biomedical Engineering regarding replenishment of supplies.

5)Reports broken equipment and arranges for replacements as needed. Monitors repair and return of unit based equipment.

Responsible for all ordering of supplies in assigned areas using several methods of ordering including computor.

Works closely with all clinical staff to keep communication open regarding supply and equipment needs on Pediatric Unit.
1)Works with the Manager to give input on annual budget for supply and equipment expense.

2)Works closely with Medical team to assure proper supply availability.

3)Regularly identifies opportunities for cost containment in all areas.

4)*Maintain appropriate confidentiality of patient information

Complies with all applicable universal precautions and safe work practices, including use of personal protective clothing and/or equipment, as defined in the OSHA Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR Part 1910.1030) when performing duties or procedures in which contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials is possible.

Education/Experience Required:
•High School Diploma or equivalent •1yr experience including inventory or supply management experience and computer background with CRT or Data Entry

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
• Demonstrated knowledge of PC • Good communication skills • Ability to anticipate patient, employee & department needs and refer for action

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Position may be exposed to contagious diseases, bio-hazardous material and hazardous chemicals Ability to carry, bend, reach, stoop, push supply carts with equipment, patient supplies, and specimens, to and from their destinations. Ability to lift very heavy weight requirements according to DOL definitions. Ability to asses working condition of equipment Incumbent in position must conduct themselves in a courteous and professional manner at all times Ability to work weekends as needed
This requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 04/20/2014. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
