Schedule Details/Additional Information:
- Full-time, 2nd shift (shift starts at 1500)
- weekend & holiday rotation required
Major Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day refurbishing initiatives in the ED.
- Conduct regular department rounds using the daily rounding tool; ensure documentation in Care Connection.
- Provide input to ED leadership regarding equipment needs, future planning, and equipment depreciation.
- Identify and address cleaning needs during rounds.
- Evaluate supply usage and recommend quarterly par level adjustments to support efficiency and fiscal responsibility.
- Represent the ED on the Leadership Team and participate in leadership meetings as needed.
- Co-chair monthly ED technician staff meetings with the ED Manager, ACM, or Director.
- Review patient satisfaction data related to ED technician performance and develop action plans to address unmet goals.
- Ensure ED technicians follow all organizational safety initiatives.
- Function as an ED technician as needed.
Education & Training Responsibilities:
- Participate in peer interviews and provide orientation and educational support for ED technicians in collaboration with the nurse manager/director.
- Coordinate orientation and ongoing education with department educators.
- Identify and address ongoing educational needs of ED technicians.
- Oversee education and maintenance of all point-of-care testing used in the ED.
- Plan and conduct bi-annual skills days for ED technicians.
Education & Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a CNA, EMT-B, LPN, or Medical Assistant.
- 2–4 years of experience in an emergency department.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Proficiency with PC skills and familiarity with ED equipment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational and basic math skills.
