Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Monday – Friday 6am – 3pm with flexibility based on operational needs (including flexibility to weekend coverage as needed).

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensures efficient and effective utilization of assigned staff and guides their development through instruction, quality assurance inspections, and follow-up.
  • Prepares master work and time schedules under the direction of the Manager, coordinating vacation and holiday time and reviewing daily adjustments in the work schedule. Reviews Payroll Time Recording system and other records of absence and tardiness, consulting with the Manager regarding unusual circumstances.
  • Tests and initiates recommendations on products, systems, and procedure changes and methods relative to greater effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Conducts formal and informal inspections to ensure quality control relative to products, systems, procedures, and methods. Follows through on special work requests and problems or complaints.
  • Assists in setting short and long term goals and establishes priorities based on department and hospital objectives; resolves and prevents problems, using good foresight and judgment and makes sound recommendations to the Manager; establishes job methods, procedures, quality, and quantity standards.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date records of material distribution activities in all areas to meet and exceed the Joint Commission standards.
  • Investigates and follows up on safety issues, investigates and assesses department problems, and recommends solutions.
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which includes coaching on performance, completes performance reviews and overall staff morale. Recommends hiring, compensation changes, promotions, corrective action decisions, and terminations.
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.

Education Required:

  • High School Graduate.

Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in hospitality services or related field, with experience as a lead or senior level staff.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Strong management and interpersonal skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are essential.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must be physically able to stand for up to 80% of each workday as well as sit, walk, lift, squat, and bend.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
