Schedule Details/Additional Information:
This job is primarily remote but may require 1-4 in person meetings per year in the Chicago area.
The Government Programs-Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing operational functions related to Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovations (CMMI) programs. Primarily responsible for but not limited to application support, CMS policy and regulatory initiatives and compliance, CMS marketing compliance, and CMS/CMMI financial and analytics support. This position ensures the successful operation of Advocate Health’s MSSP ACOs by staying abreast of all relevant Federal policy changes and program guidance, serving as a key point of contact for CMS, and providing critical support to the ACO governing body, committees, and Government Programs leaders. This role will assist with the planning, implementation, and ongoing support of CMS’ Medicare Payment Reforms, new initiatives from CMMI, and the Quality Payment Program (QPP). This position will also work with Government Programs leaders and the Marketing and Communications teams to increase Government programs visibility within the organization and the broader community and improve engagement with both internal and external stakeholders.
Major Responsibilities
- Ensures timely submission of application and annual certification materials, meet monthly program deadlines and submissions.
- Develop MSSP, ACO REACH, and CMMI model subject matter expertise by staying abreast of relevant Federal policies, rules, and program guidance; leverage this expertise to make recommendations to Government Programs leadership and ensure program compliance.
- Provides logistical and project management support to boards, work teams, and groups that oversee Government Programs strategic initiatives and follows up on applicable action items.
- Work with the Government Programs Consultant Sr and Advocate Health Marketing/Communications to engage internal and external stakeholders with the Government Programs via the websites, emails/letters, and other vehicles as needed.
- Responsible for developing communications both internally and externally, including reporting of model performance to leadership teams and stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze project work to evaluate initiatives and ensure progress is within expected guidelines and is completed on time and within budget.
- Support regional and national market competitor performance comparisons on related to CMS/CMMI models.
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining current knowledge of government regulations, policies, and trends that affect the health care industry, and independently conducts online research to access documents, pertinent regulations or evidenced based protocol to deliver ideas around improvement initiatives.
- Actively monitors program participants performance and recommends to Government programs leadership changes in participation and performance gaps for current participants.
- Identify ways to improve operational efficiency and reliability through standardization and automation.
Minimum Education and Experience Required
License/Registration/Certification:
- None Required
Level of Education:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, public health, public policy, or related field
Experience:
- 3 years of experience within healthcare operations, managed care, value-based care payment models, MSSP, ACO REACH, Next Generation ACOs, Bundled payments, or innovative incentive models.
- Experience with implementation of government programs, initiatives, and health care policy, including CMS and CMMI value-based care models.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic understanding of government programs, initiatives, and health policy (CMS/Medicare/Medicaid, CMMI, other value-based payment programs).
- High level of proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel.
- Working knowledge of PI tools and methods.
- Aptitude for problem-solving and demonstrated ability to facilitate group activities with passion and maintain group energy. Commitment to continuous learning.
- Ability to perform highly in a remote work environment.
- Ability to use analytical tools to create actional information on past and future ACO performance.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
