Position: Logistics Team Specialist – Hospital at Home
Location: Lutheran General hospital; Park Ridge, IL.
Full Time; 1st Shift
~6:30am or 7am start time; 8-hour shifts, rotating weekends
Essential Functions
- Performs routine maintenance of MTF including the tractor, tractor trailer and generator.
- Assists in set up and break down of MTF and related logistics functions.
- Performs preventative maintenance (electrical, plumbing, general construction and carpentry) for MTF.
- Oversees deployment of vehicle in emergency situations.
- Keeps a record of MTF resources before, during and after deployment.
- Performs general housekeeping duties with regards to MTF.
- Possesses general skill set regarding trailer and rig mechanics, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and preventative maintenance.
- Facilitates and communicates repairs that requires specialized skills through outside vendors.
- Inspects, maintains, and operates sport utility vehicles or other designated ground vehicles for transport of organs, organ recovery teams / transplant teams, and recovery related equipment during pre-procurement through the post-organ procurement phases of donor recovery
- Inspects, maintains, and operates vans, sport utility vehicles or other designated ground vehicles for transport of decedents, tissue recovery teams, and tissue recovery related equipment during pre-procurement through the post-procurement phases of tissue donor recovery
- Ensures interior vehicle surfaces and environment are cleaned and disinfected between each trip
- Works day-to-day under the direction of Mobile Medicine Fleet & Logistics leadership to fulfill Mobile Medicine-specific routine, unscheduled and emergent vehicle, supply, maintenance & preparedness tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements
- Duties require good physical stamina, endurance, and body mechanics which would not be adversely affected by having to lift, carry, and balance at times more than 125 pounds (250 pounds with assistance).
- Work in extreme environmental conditions with limited resources/support as well as emotional circumstances can be expected.
- Good motor coordination is required.
- Normal eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity is necessary to perform duties.
- Must also have good oral communication skills.
- Ability to independently lift and balance equipment weighing 56.7 kilograms (125 pounds).
- The ability to work effectively driving in extreme environmental conditions while fulfilling the essential functions listed above including, but not limited to icing conditions, snow, fog, torrential rainfall, limited visibility, and tropical storms
Education, Experience and Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid NCDL, CDL-Class A license preferred within one year of hire.
- Minimum of 2 years' vehicle maintenance experience preferred.
- Requires American Heart Association BCLS.
- Requires Advocate Health Risk Management Approved Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) annually.
- Requires a valid NCDL Class C Driver License, applicable state CDL Class B preferred
