Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Two 4-hour shifts weekly, Monday thru Friday from 10am -2pm. Remote after in-office onboarding/orientation.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides clerical support such as copying, data entry, and other routine office support functions.
- Maintains department voicemail by retrieving, recording into shared database, and transferring to appropriate mailbox. Send monthly status notifications and generate indicators to ensure voicemail completion is timely.
- Assist with maintaining fax folder by renaming, uploading into computer software, and relocating to appropriate folder.
- Provides assistance with authorization functions which may include insurance eligibility checks.
- Accurately verify pertinent patient data in computer software.
- Maintains accurate totals for productivity and generate reports monthly or on an as needed basis.
- Ensures information obtained is complete and accurate, applying acquired knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements/on-line eligibility systems.
- Contacts insurance carriers to obtain Medicare Beneficiary Identification Number for Medicare/Medicare HMO patients.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Strong customer service and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills including proficient keyboarding skills and experience in using Microsoft Office products and/or similar applications, electronic mail, and electronic medical records systems.
- Strong analytical, prioritization and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to manage multiple priorities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of diplomacy and tact. Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people under stressful circumstances.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit majority of the workday.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions using hands, wrists and /or fingers.
- Exposed to a normal medical office environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
