Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Must pick up 3 shifts a month – 1 Must be a weekend shiftThe hours can be a mix of 8 and 12 hour shifts.Urgent Care hours are:Monday-Friday 8a-8p and Weekends/ holiday 8a-4:30p.All schedule requests are due 6 weeks in advance.

Provides nursing care and treatment for assigned patients in the urgent care area.

Provides ongoing nursing care (assess, plan, intervention, evaluation) according to the age specific and developmental needs of the patient.

Assesses patient, family and/or significant others educational needs and provides teaching/counseling.

Anticipates and recognizes changes in a patient's status and need for care.

Determines priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs.

Integrates health promotion and preventive aspects of care.

Provides basic instruction for patient regarding routine procedures, treatments or disease processes.

Provides telephone triage to patient, family and/or significant others using nursing judgment according to protocol.

Assures quality of care through development, implementation and evaluation of professional nursing standards. Participates in quality assurance activities.

Participates in community education programs.

Scheduled Hours

Licenses & Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), and

Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months, and

Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.

Degrees

Associate's Degree in Nursing.

Required Functional Experience

Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, staff and physicians.Demonstrated ability to effectively make critical, independent decisions.Excellent organization, prioritization and problem solving skills.Demonstrated leadership skills including delegation, organization, prioritization and building team rapport.Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, use of electronic mail and electronic medical records systems.

Two or more  years nursing experience
