Join or team of 22,000 nurses strong! Come work in one of our 17 Wisconsin hospitals or 150 clinic locations!
Choosing your first job as a Registered Nurse is an important step. While we strive to place candidates into their ideal job fit, candidates have found they have greater success in being selected for hiring leader interviews and offers if they are open to several locations, a variety of shifts and schedules, and multiple units. And while the greatest learning and growth opportunities occur when a new nurse stays on their unit for 1-2 years, Aurora Health Care understands the need to pursue career growth and work life balance and allows internal transfers after 6 months working in a new position.
Your orientation as a new nurse will be comprehensive. In your first weeks you’ll complete our G.R.O.W. modules. This provides key system clinical content based on organizational priorities and regulatory requirements to align with unit-based orientation with a preceptor. Your unit orientation will span approximately 12 weeks with an assigned preceptor on your unit. During your first 60 days you’ll begin the 6-month accredited nursing residency program with the goal of supporting your professional development, confidence, and overall wellbeing as you transition from academia to the practice setting. At program completion, you’ll receive a certification and graduation gift as well as options to join the Clinical Nurse Mentor program, Post Residency Café, and our Post Residency Community Coalition Project.
Choose from a variety of acute care units/areas of nursing including:
- Medical Surgical
- Orthopedics
- Oncology

- Cardiac/Telemetry
- Transplant Medicine
- Neurology
