Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Typical business day is Monday through Friday from 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. Exempt position typically 45-50 hours/week. Occasional weekends and evenings due to project needs.
Major Responsibilities:
- Serves as a Senior Trainer in a designated Epic Application/Module. Credentials trainers on departmental courses. Assists with remediation efforts if a trainer is not successfully demonstrating competence in teaching a given class.
- Leads the onboarding of new training specialists by guiding them through a detailed orientation plan and mentors other trainers by assisting them with questions and teaching them content and techniques that enhance their skills.
- Acts as a go-to resource for Instructional Designers for providing feedback on course content and in transmitting changes to other trainers.
- Provides classroom instruction to new and existing team members on a variety of revenue cycle topics (including hard and soft skills), with emphasis on the technologies and processes team members need to know to perform their jobs.
- Presents information using a variety of instructional techniques to meet educational objectives and regulatory compliance requirements that impact business functions. These techniques include role playing, simulation, team exercises, group discussions, videos, e-learning and lectures. May also provide other types of training beyond the typical classroom setting, as needed.
- Provides onsite or virtual go-live support to revenue cycle team members during implementations, affiliations, and other significant operational changes. Takes on the most challenging assignments in these situations.
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training activities and the progress of learners; provides feedback to the Revenue Cycle Manager on team members who are particularly excelling or struggling; as well as follows-up with Instructional Designers on opportunities for adjustment to course content. May assist with development and refinement of training materials.
- Maintains a high level of revenue cycle knowledge in order to provide support to existing revenue cycle team members through HIT ticketing system tickets, centralized e-mail questions, and phone discussions on designated days. Works collaboratively with other departments to resolve support issues.
- Stays up-to-date with all changes to training materials and on industry and educational best practices and incorporates this information into training content.
- Provides support to Quality & Systems and Workflow Optimization teams through process validation and testing when assistance is required. May assist HIT project teams in the testing and training of new applications within system revenue cycle areas; provides feedback that enhances training quality and/or troubleshoots system issues.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Epic ADT/Prelude certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
- Epic Hospital Billing with Single Billing Office Administration certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months.
- Epic Cadence certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
- Epic Home Health Billing certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
- Epic Hospice Billing certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
- Epic Hospital Registration Revenue Cycle Readiness certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
- Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Administration certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
- Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Payment Application certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
- Epic Resolute Hospital Billing Self-Pay Follow-Up certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
- Epic Resolute Professional Billing Administrator certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
- Epic Grand Central certification issued by Epic needs to be obtained within 6 months, and/or
- Any other applicable certifications or badges based on the needs of the department.
- If uncertified, certifications must be obtained within 6 months of starting.
Education Required:
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Business or related field, or
- Bachelor's Degree in Education.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 5 years of experience in adult education or healthcare revenue cycle with demonstrated training skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Mastery of all in-scope training materials and advanced knowledge of related processes beyond what is in the training materials.
- Exceptionally strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to interact with multiple constituencies and exercise "people skills.”
- Strong organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively present conclusions and recommendations in front of groups.
- Effective critical thinking, creativity, problem solving and decision making skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), or similar products. Ability to learn other applications proficiently.
- Demonstrated teaching skills that promote learner involvement. Innovative coaching and counseling skills when dealing with education and development issues.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. when carrying education material to classrooms.
- Must be able to sit 50% and stand 50% of the workday.
- May be exposed to extreme weather conditions when traveling between sites.
- Exposed to normal office or home office environment.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
