Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm with additional weekend and evening hours based on project needs. This is an exempt position and the typical work week is 45-50 hours.
- Provides classroom instruction to new and existing team members on a variety of revenue cycle topics (including hard and soft skills), with emphasis on the technologies and processes team members need to know to perform their jobs.
- Presents information using a variety of instructional techniques to meet educational objectives and regulatory compliance requirements that impact business functions. These techniques include role playing, simulation, team exercises, group discussions, videos, e-learning and lectures.
- Provides other types of training beyond the typical classroom setting; for example, small group precepting, desk-side support, virtual conferences, and other forms of training, as needed.
- Provides onsite or virtual go-live support to revenue cycle team members during implementations, affiliations, and other significant operational changes.
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training activities and the progress of learners; provides feedback to Revenue Cycle Training leaders on team members who are particularly excelling or struggling; as well as provides input to Instructional Designers on opportunities for adjustment to course content. May assist with development and refinement of training materials.
- Maintains a high level of revenue cycle knowledge in order to provide support to existing revenue cycle team members through the HIT ticketing system, centralized e-mail questions, and phone discussion on designated days. Works collaboratively with other departments to resolve support issues.
- Stays up-to-date with all changes to training materials and on industry and educational best practices and incorporates this information into training content.
- Provides support to Quality & Systems and Workflow Optimization teams through process validation and testing when assistance is required.
- May assist HIT project teams in the testing and training of new applications within system revenue cycle areas; provides feedback that enhances training quality and/or troubleshoots system issues.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- None Required.
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Business or related field, or
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 3 years of experience in adult education or healthcare revenue cycle with demonstrated training skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Exceptionally strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to interact with multiple constituencies and exercise "people skills.”
- Strong organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively present conclusions and recommendations in front of groups.
- Effective critical thinking, creativity, problem solving, and decision making skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), or similar products. Ability to learn other applications proficiently.
- Demonstrated teaching skills that promote learner involvement. Innovative coaching and counseling skills when dealing with education and development issues.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. when carrying education material to classrooms.
- Must be able to sit 50% and stand 50% of the workday.
- May be exposed to extreme weather conditions when traveling between sites.
- Exposed to normal office or home office environment.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
