Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Position will be required to work a minimum of 3 shift per month as a conditions of employment.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Customer Satisfaction
    • 1)Accountable for scheduling & prompt completion of procedures to ensure an effective operation.
    • 2)Monitors issues of customer satisfaction & review with hospital supervision on action plans for correction.
    • 3)Works in a manner to continually improve customer satisfaction.
    • 4)Submits ideas each year for improving customer satisfaction.
  • Quality
    • 1)Accountable for the routine performance of all Diagnostic M.R. I. procedures utilizing proper technical parameters in order to produce quality studies.
    • 2)Initiates IV’s for administration of contrast media for MRI image enhancement.
    • 3)Reviews each patient charge; changes, modifies, or initiates additional charges as appropriate.
    • 4)Secures patient histories on patients from chart, family member to provide Radiologist with adequate information for exam interpretation.
    • 5)Initiates requests for emergency medical support as indicated by patient condition to include Code 99, Code Blue etc.
    • 6)Maintain appropriate levels of medical supplies and other inventory.
    • 7)Ensures room cleanliness and neat presentation.
    • 8)Responsible for keeping abreast of MR imaging protocols and emerging improvement in M.R. Services through professional meetings, seminars, periodicals etc.
    • 9)Accountable for patient and staff safety, working with the knowledge that the magnetic field can be hazardous if not safely managed.
    • 10)Accountable for scheduling and the prompt completion of procedures to ensure an effective operation. Accountable for the proper operation and appropriate actions to maintain equipment up-times which are consistent with timely patient care. Assists in quality control of equipment and participates in continuing quality improvement initiatives for the service. Participate in efforts to monitor and improve departmental CQI indicators. Submit ideas for improving quality in your department.

Education/Experience Required:

  • 1 yr experience preferred. 2 yrs C.T. experience OR Graduate of MRI certification program

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Computer literate excellent Interpersonal skills.
  • CPR Certified IDNS License preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • May be exposed to Radiation; hazardous materials & life threatening diseases. Ability to: lift &/or move patients; to work under stressful conditions & in difficult situations; to perform lifting (heavy) transfer activities related to patient; to work rotating shifts any day of the week; to stand, stoop bend for extended periods of time. “This position will need to recognize the needs & behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treat i.e. understand child growth & development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior & look for signs of normal aging; prior experience with various age groups preferred.
  • If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Addendum: Requires use of proper lifting mechanics to prevent injuries. Exposure to infectious diseases requiring proper protection. Position requires significant time viewing computer screens during the data acquisition for procedures. Stressful work environment due to equipment limitation and changing priorities for patient throughput. Exposure to high electromagnetic field. Required to manage patient transportation utilizing wheelchairs & gurneys on ramped areas; must be able to manipulate patient and transportation device on inclines and for transport times reaching seven to ten (7-10) minutes.
